Contributing to a culture of Life means unapologetically standing up for preborn children in both our private and public lives. For some of us, that is the workplace. For others, that’s on campus. For Christabelle Garcia, a Students for Life of America (SFLA) student and model, it means standing up for Life on the stage of a beauty pageant and proving that LIFE is a winning message, even in abortion-crazed California.

Born and raised in California County, Los Angeles, Garcia has been an active member of her church and in the pro-life movement, even starting the SFLA group at her alma mater, Cerritos College. In recent years, with her associate production of the award-winning digital series An Unplanned Milestone, Garcia garnered a more significant media presence and applied her values to the Miss California Beauty pageant.
Fresh off the heels of An Unplanned Milestone’s release and traveling the country with every new round of the competition, Garcia competed in a beauty pageant for the first time in 2024. As a finalist for the 2024 Miss California beauty pageant, Garcia used her new public speaking skills to run for city council in La Habra—becoming the youngest female in the city’s history to do so.

With new media experience, walking the red carpet of Hollywood events such as the Pre-Grammy and Chicano Hollywood’s celebrity toy drive red carpet, Garcia returned to the Miss Los Angeles Beauty Pageant for round two. This time, she openly shared about her work with SFLA.
On the spot, Garcia took on the judges’ questions laced with tired abortion narratives. Specifically, they asked her how she felt about the “negative consequences” of “restricting” abortion or how she “made peace” with her pro-life identity as a woman.
Garcia answered these questions how every loaded question should be answered: with grace and with truth. She shared about her efforts in supportive services and how she advanced choice by supplying expecting parents with needed items rather than letting the abortion industry take advantage of them. After all, in her free time, she volunteers with the La Habra Life Center, a Pregnancy Health Center (PHC), and sees first-hand how Life-affirming resources like maternity clothes, diapers, and other baby items meet the essential needs of low-income mothers.
The results spoke for themselves. Christabelle Garcia emerged from the 2025 Miss Los Angeles competition as the winner of not just any award, but the People’s Choice Award!

Christabelle Garcia was the first candidate to openly engage with the pro-life movement, but by confronting the false narratives about it, she may not have been the last.
Garcia will continue her studies in pedagogy at the university. She remains a crucial voice for respecting human Life at Cal Poly Pomona and dual-continues her public presence as an affiliate of Believe You Are The Best Studios and an actress in their upcoming productions.

Garcia has been a force for change in academics, the beauty industry, film, and government. And you can, too.
If Garcia proves anything, the pro-life stance is a winning message, and the Pro-Life Generation (PLG) can boldly stand up for preborn lives and inspire others to do the same.
