During a ceremony at the National Leaders Collective kick-off weekend on Saturday, Students for Life of America (SFLA) announced its 2022 – 2023 Group of the Year award winners — and we’re so excited to publicly share the exciting news! Read below to find out which of the group nominees were chosen as ‘best’ in their individual categories:

New Group of the Year Winner: Gibson Southern Students for Life

The Gibson Southern Students for Life just began in the 2022 – 2023 school year at Gibson Southern High School in Indiana, and they have had as many as 80 members attend meetings and community activism. To give the vulnerable a helping hand, the group has organized an item drive with a local pregnancy resource center and volunteered with a community outreach program that assists women and families who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy or difficult situation. To testify to pro-life ideals, the Gibson Southern Students for Life have also arranged multiple educational events, as well.

High School Group of the Year Winner: Kalida Students for Life

Kalida Students for Life (Kalida SFL) is a recently formed group of about 10 active members from Kalida High School in Ohio. Although this is a smaller group, they’re a very active one, hosting massive events that have had more than 75 attendees. They have hosted volunteer bake sales, educational movie nights, and participated in National Pro-Life Chalk Day, among other things.

College Group of the Year Winner: University of Cincinnati Students for Life

The University of Cincinnati Students for Life group has more than 50 active members at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, and by hosting more than 50 events and attending countless others, its members are well-known in the Cincinnati pro-life community. With a key goal of focusing on effective education and combatting misinformation about abortion for students on campus, the group had over 200 conversations and 50 minds changed on campus during the school year. The group is very well-rounded as they are also heavily engaged in community service and pro-life political activism.

SFLA is so proud of these amazing student groups for going above and beyond in their mission to make abortion unavailable and unthinkable. Through their dedication to supporting families and driving out the abortion lobby, they have increasingly made both their campuses and communities more life-affirming. We can’t wait to see what they’ll be up to next year!
