If you didn’t read past the Associated Press’ (AP) recent headline, “Most US adults still support legal abortion, AP-NORC poll finds,” you’d think that the pro-life movement is suffering a severe loss- but nothing could be further from the truth.
The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) is making steady gains since the Dobbs decision, leading to the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Even AP had to subtly acknowledge it, replacing their misleading headline with the new one, “How US adults feel about legal abortion 3 years after Roe was overturned, according to AP-NORC poll.”

We can give you some hopeful highlights, which include the following:
- As of July 2025, approximately 64% of U.S. adults believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases. This is lower than the 70% reported in mid‑2024.
- Around 50% say abortion should be allowed in their state for any reason, a decrease from about 60% in 2024 but similar to numbers in June 2021.
- Support for legal protections for tele”death” prescriptions and mailing Chemical Abortion Pills is more limited: about 40% in favor, 30% opposed.
Dr. Michael New gave a succinct analysis of the National Review, noted that “percentage of adults who think abortion should be illegal in ‘all cases’ or ‘most cases’ increased by seven percentage points since June 2024.” He also pointed out an incredible change, noting the “the percentage of people who supported legal abortion if the woman ‘does not want to be pregnant for any reason’ fell by five percentage points.”
The AP was hilariously disappointed, even including a line acknowledging the down curve of support when it seemed, at least to them, that “support for legal abortion might be rising.”
If only the AP followed Students for Life of America (SFLA). If they did, they’d know the tide was changing, especially among young people, about abortion.
Our 2025 poll results from the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement, conducted by Survey USA and YouGov, show clearly that registered Gen Z and Millennial voters weren’t smitten with abortion and didn’t want that from their new political leadership either.
Again, not a shock to us, the results go against what the mainstream media wants Americans to believe:
- Almost 7 in 10 support some limits on abortion, a decrease from 2024.
- MORE than 3 in 10 Youth Voters (31%) “would be MORE WILLING to accept limits” if families got the help they need.
- Less than 1 in 10 (9%) supported the Democratic Party Agenda of abortion without limits, through all 9 months, up to and including infanticide for a baby born during a botched abortion.
- 6 in 10 said human rights begin while a child is still in the womb.
Regarding the wild west of Chemical Abortion Pills, 9 in 10 embrace protections around these perilous pills to save lives, preserve fertility, and protect the environment.

Even a quick overview of that poll showed abortion isn’t a winner. But even if you don’t want the “bias” of a pro-life survey, look at Gallup, which showed astounding pro-life sentiments:
- Only 34% of young adults now agree that “abortion should be legal in all circumstances,” a drop of 14 points since 2022.
- Pro-life identification among young adults climbed to 37% this year, an 11-point increase since 2022.
After a brutal abortion propaganda narrative in the 2024 election, all these numbers are promising, swaying our way. The Pro-Life Generation is making significant strides, but of course, we keep fighting the abortion narrative. These poll numbers reflect where the minds and hearts of Americans are on abortion policy, much to AP’s chagrin.
