In another desperate attempt to blame the pro-life movement, a recent report from CBS claims that new pro-life laws implemented since the reversal of Roe v. Wade are motivating people to move away from pro-life states.
Analysts at the Georgia Institute of Technology found that 13 states with strong pro-life protections have lost a net total of 36,000 residents. The article attempts to paint this as the fault of pro-life legislation, but the connection is weak and easily disprovable.

Data from other sources suggest that the opposite may be true for some of these states. One of the states included in the study is Alabama, which protects preborn life from conception. According to the National Movers Study, “Significantly more households moved in [to Alabama] versus moved out in 2023.” The same is true for South Dakota and Arkansas, which both have strong pro-life legislation.
Let’s not forget Texas, one of the most pro-life states in America, where currently Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing New York abortionist Margaret Carpenter for allegedly violating Texas law by sending Chemical Abortion Pills. Texas is one of the states that receives more attention than any other state for its pro-life legislation. Mainstream media has painted Texas as a dangerous, dystopian landscape since passing laws to protect babies. So, according to CBS, people should be fleeing the Lone Star State, right?

Wrong. Between 2022 and 2023, 94,000 people moved from California, a pro-abortion state, to Texas, according to Business Insider. A total of 612,000 moved to Texas during this period. So, half a million Americans don’t seem to be frightened by the idea of more babies being given a chance at Life.
The claim that people are moving because of pro-life laws is flimsy at best, if not outright false. But two things are true. First, it’s hard to track who moves where and why they are moving. People move for various reasons, whether it be finances, job change, safety, economy, etc. The second truth should be obvious: the average American is not as obsessed with ending the lives of preborn children as the abortion industry and media, along with their abortion-loving politicians and pundits.
Abortion zealots should have learned this vital lesson from the 2024 election. If we learned anything from former Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat, centering ideology on abortion is a failing strategy.

According to a Gallup poll on what issues Americans found to be important when voting, abortion was number nine on the list. People were more concerned about the economy, which is the most probable reason for moving to different states.

Let’s for a moment narrow our focus to the importance of abortion to young people. Even support for abortion is becoming shakier by the year. 2025 polling from the Demetree Institute for Pro-life Advancement suggests that support for pro-life legislation is strengthening, not weakening. The post-election survey found that nearly seven in 10 Americans support at least some limits on abortion, and six in 10 people say that human rights begin in the womb. Most people aren’t radically pro-abortion and certainly aren’t choosing where their family lives based on abortion laws.
READ: POLL: Abortion Won’t Win the Hearts & Minds of now ALMOST HALF of the Electorate
A number of stories have insinuated that people – workers, women, doctors – are moving into blue states FOR abortion. This is only believable if you don’t look at the actual math. The coming redistribution of seats in Congress tells the real story.
According to the Liberal Patriot, “Estimates from the American Redistricting Project predict that California is on track to lose three House seats—and three electoral votes—after 2030’s reapportionment. New York could drop 2 seats. Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Illinois all might lose a seat. Meanwhile, Texas and Florida are each projected to gain a whopping 4 seats. Idaho and Utah, too, will tack on an additional seat.” This means that red states, not blue states, are gaining more seats, which could mean more pro-life legislation.
The Pro-Life Generation’s (PLG) ultimate goal is that preborn babies are protected no matter where people may move to. It’s sad that in many parts of our country, preborn babies have no legal protection. Human life holds intrinsic value, regardless of state lines. We hope to Make America Pro-Life Again, so all human life is valued and protected no matter what state you live in.
