Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is rising to fame in many ways: first, as a three-time Superbowl champion, but more importantly, as an advocate for the preborn.
During a recent 20-minute speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic school, Butker, a practicing Catholic, called Biden “delusional” for simultaneously pushing for radical abortion policies while claiming to be a practicing Catholic.
“Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values and media, all stem from the pervasiveness of disorder,” said Butker. “Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally.”
Just last month, President Joe Biden was at an abortion rally when he made the sign of the cross, a hand gesture used by many Catholics, which is a deeply fundamental pro-life religion. The sign should never be paired with abortion extremists like Biden and many progressives, as Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins called a “complete mockery of God.”
With the 2024 election approaching, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have been campaigning across the country, making abortion a key issue among American voters, especially the youth.
However, polling by the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement show the Youth Vote is less than impressed, with three out of four millennials and Gen Z want abortion limits and 82% disagreed withholding medical care from a newborn baby according to You.Gov. Even citizens from the abortion sanctuary state of California think some abortions are going too far, forcing out a facility procuring abortions after 24 weeks (about 5 and a half months). Add in the fact that Harris and Biden won’t disclose any campaign location stops until the last minute, one time only announcing a large county, Biden’s abortion extremism is unpopular. Stars like Butker are brave enough to point out what many young people believe.
Just recently, Butker sent a subtle message to Joe Biden and abortion supporters everywhere when Butker and other Kansas City Chiefs players, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, were invited to the White House. He wore a tie reading, “Vulnerari Praesidio,” a Latin phrase meaning “Protect the most vulnerable,” as well as sporting a gold pin of a baby’s feet at 10-weeks-old.
“The unborn, to me, are the greatest victims of our society. They don’t have a voice. They don’t necessarily look like humans,” said Butker to ETWN News’ “In Depth.” “They’re not very big. They can’t fight for themselves. There’s not a lot of people that are fighting for them.”
Butker is only wrong about one thing – SFLA, Students for Life Action (SFLAction), and the whole Pro-Life Generation are fighting for life, and we’re glad Butker is using his fame to bring attention to life. While men like Joe Biden hold opposing viewpoints such as Catholicism and abortion, men like Butker stays consistent in his faith and value of life.
