Student Spokesperson Program

Applications for the 2024-2025 Student Spokesperson Program are now closed.

Are you a former SFLA Fellow, still in college or grad school? Did you complete a leadership program for SFLA?  Are you interested in online and in-person media relations?

SFLA Student Spokespeople are National Leaders Collective (NLC) leaders who can communicate the pro-life message on a national level on behalf of the Pro-Life Generation. Student Spokespersons will learn valuable skills and techniques to apply in their careers and throughout a lifetime of service in the pro-life movement.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Students who have completed an SFLA Fellowship, the SFLAction Captain Program, or another leadership initiative within Students for Life.
  • Must be a current active member in a campus pro-life organization and a college sophomore or older.
  • Must be interested in pursuing a full-time career in the pro-life movement.
  • Must be able to attend the National Leaders Collective Kickoff Weekend Thursday, June 20th - Monday, June 24th, 2024.
The Program:
  • TWO FREE trips to Washington D.C: Spokespeople are invited to Washington D.C for the National Leaders Collective Kickoff Weekend in June AND to Washington D.C to help cover the National Pro-Life March and National Pro-Life Summit in January. Spokespeople must be able to operate independently from their group at events in January to gain the full program experience.

  • Resources and training in leadership: Spokespeople commit to 2-3 hours per week of leadership development through their program (the equivalent of one college class). This is accomplished through reviewing publications and social media strategies, participating in monthly webcasts for discussion, and hearing from guest speaker lectures during these webcasts.

  • Media and communications experience: Spokespeople commit to completing three communication badges each month during the year that applies the skills they learn online activism and media encounters.

  • Career insight and mentorship: Fellows commit to monthly mentorship from a National Mentor (a leader in a national pro-life organization, specifically with experience in communications) who will give advice on full-time work in the pro-life movement.

  • Exclusive opportunities to further the pro-life mission: Spokespeople regularly assist SFLA by volunteering in strategic activism to further the mission of abolishing abortion. There are no financial stipends associated with this program.
