When you first hear about Horns for Life at the University of Texas, you might assume they’re a large, highly structured organization. In reality, this powerhouse group consists of just three dedicated officers and about eight to 10 student members. Despite their size, they’ve made an outsized impact on campus this semester through education, service, and advocacy, all while keeping things fun and community-focused.

Tabling and the All Human Life is Valuable Campus Tour

Horns for Life hit the ground running this fall, tabling at least 10 times to engage students in meaningful conversations about the value of human life. One of their most significant efforts was hosting the All Human Life is Valuable Campus Tour. When the university refused to approve the event due to an unconstitutional policy, the group didn’t back down. Instead, they pivoted quickly, identifying a high-traffic location on city property adjacent to campus. This creative solution ensured that pro-life conversations reached students despite administrative roadblocks.

The results were remarkable: 18 pro-life conversations and 29 discussions with students who didn’t fully agree with the group’s stance. Five of those individuals shifted their perspective at least partially toward the pro-life position. One conversation involved a pro-choice student who spent 20 minutes simply trying to understand the pro-life viewpoint. Another particularly moving encounter involved a young woman who shared that she had been pro-choice her entire life — until her own abortion experience changed her mind. Horns for Life connected her with post-abortion healing resources and welcomed her into their community. By the end of the day, over 20 people had signed a petition supporting human rights protections for the preborn.

Planned Parenthood Fundraiser Protest

Horns for Life didn’t shy away from bold action this year. Over the summer, club president Tiffany Lomax took the group’s mission to the state level by lobbying on behalf of the Texas Women and Child Protection Act. This legislation, the first of its kind in the nation, eventually passed and went into effect earlier this month!

In September, Horns for Life also stepped outside their comfort zone by organizing a peaceful protest during a Planned Parenthood fundraiser. Armed with signs featuring positive, life-affirming messages, members stood boldly outside the event to demonstrate that support for Planned Parenthood’s harmful practices is not universal. Their courage sent a clear message to the community: The voices advocating for the preborn will not be silenced.

Building Community and Raising Funds

Beyond activism, Horns for Life focused on supporting pregnant and parenting students and building relationships. During the semester, the group presented speakers from Texas Right to Life, local pregnancy centers, and Embrace Grace, partnering with the broader pro-life community to amplify their impact. Their fundraising efforts were equally impressive: a bake sale in October, a talent show in November, and handmade Christmas card sales in December collectively raised about $1,500 for their scholarship fund benefiting pregnant and parenting students. Horns for Life is always working hard, yet they still found time for an ice cream social in September, Friendsgiving in November, and a baking party in December to keep morale high and friendships strong.

Small but Mighty

It’s hard to believe that such a dynamic semester was driven by a team of only three officers and fewer than a dozen members. Horns for Life proves that dedication, not size, is what determines real influence. Through creativity, resilience, and unwavering commitment, they’ve educated their peers, supported vulnerable students, and stood boldly for life. For these reasons and more, Horns for Life is our December 2025 Group of the Month.
