A woman faces charges of second-degree assault and hit-and-run after allegedly running over a pro-life protester outside a Planned Parenthood in Washington state.

Sierra Godfrey, a Richland, Washington resident, was released on bail Monday after being booked Sunday for an incident that took place outside a Planned Parenthood in Kennewick, Washington on Dec. 1.

That day, Godfrey allegedly pulled into the lot of a Planned Parenthood before getting out of her vehicle to angrily confront a pro-life protester. After an argument, she reportedly got back into her car and drove it toward two other protesters—who, according to court documents, had behaved politely and respectfully toward her—before swerving into them, striking one and knocking him to the ground. Godfrey then drove away.

The hit was captured on video thanks to a GoPro camera worn by one of the protesters. Police later located Godfrey at her home using the license plate number recorded on that footage.

Despite reported footage of the incident, not a single mainstream outlet has picked up the story. Meanwhile, the TriCityHerald found its Facebook post on the incident flooded with hateful, pro-abortion comments.

“Is the SUV okay?” wrote one commenter.

“Good for her,” wrote another.

Godfrey has allegedly admitted to hitting the protester and driving away but says she only intended to scare the men.

Prosecutors originally recommended Godfrey’s bail be set at just $10,000—an amount that the judge increased to $20,000, rejecting the prosecutors’ suggestion as too low given the charges.

This is not the first instance of prosecutors demonstrating their unwillingness to protect pro-life activists and punish those who hurt them.

Earlier this year, pro-life activist Savannah Craven Antao was punched in the face while conducting an interview. That incident, too, was caught on camera. The case was botched by the office of radical pro-abortion District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a series of failures that led to the attacker never being prosecuted. Some have suggested the missteps were more than incidental.

If the roles were reversed, it’s hard to believe the reaction would be the same. If a pro-life man ran over a woman seeking an abortion, he would be excoriated on every single news platform—and rightly so.

But when a pro-abortion woman runs over a pro-life man, her actions are either ignored or openly praised.

It’s that culture of violence that leads to actions like the assassination of Students for Life (SFLA) friend Charlie Kirk—a pro-life champion whose murder was met not with condemnation but with laughs, cheers, and calls for more.

At SFLA, our campus events are regularly met with their own small share of violence. In September, an abortion supporter aggressively flipped over a student table on Harvard’s campus. In March, a pro-abortion student vandalized another student table at UNC Asheville. And last year, SFLA spokeswoman Lydia Taylor Davis was mobbed by Antifa—twice—while on a campus speaking tour.

Yet despite this resistance, we continue to boldly fight for what we know is true—that every life, no matter its stage, has dignity.
