Jessica Niss, one of the National Leaders Collective’s leaders of the month, is a William Wilberforce Fellow with Students for Life of America attending Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. Learn more about Niss’s activism below.
I am involved in the pro-life movement because I want to abolish abortion. Every human life, from the moment of conception, is worthy of protection. We are all made in the image of God, and it is our responsibility to fight for those cannot fight for themselves!

My time as a Wilberforce Fellow has challenged me to dream big and be bold with the projects my student group pursues. I applied for this program because I want to see my group, Students for Life at Kennesaw State University, be more effective in each area of pro-life activism and succeed after I graduate. Being a Wilberforce Fellow has taught me how to build up future leaders, push through adversity, and make a real difference in my community.

My group and I table on campus every week asking different controversial questions to drive civil discussions. This semester alone, we have had over 350 conversations about abortion and pregnancy resources. We also did our first ever baby item drive for a local pregnancy center where we collected 766 diapers, 219 pull ups, and 21 packs of wipes. Additionally, I had the honor of speaking at another local pregnancy center’s annual donor banquet. I got to share my experience with Students for Life and the importance of supporting pregnancy centers with over 200 people.
The NLC has connected me with so many amazing pro-life leaders across America. This is a hard cause to fight for, but it is wonderful to know so many people have my back.
