In sad news, an abortion business called RISE Collective is now committing abortions through all
stages of pregnancy in Boulder, Colorado. It is absolutely appalling to hear this news of yet
another third-trimester abortion vendor, however, it comes as no surprise as states become more
and more polarized on abortion in the wake of Roe‘s reversal. For every Alabama where abortion
is prohibited nearly across the board, there’s a Colorado that keeps pushing the envelope of
abortion violence.

Abortion proponents often perpetuate the myth that third-trimester abortions do not happen in
America, but stories such as this one often break and demonstrate otherwise – and so does the
data. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not distinguish
gestational age of any abortions occurring after 21 weeks, it found that 1.1% of the 613,383
reported abortions in 2022 occurred after this point. It is important to note that this study only
includes data from states who voluntarily report abortion data to the CDC, which excludes large
pro-abortion states such as California and New York.

According to RISE Collective’s website, the “staff are trained in areas where only a
handful of clinics in the country have experience,” referring to the smaller number of
all-trimester abortion vendors in comparison to those that only sell Chemical Abortion Pills or
commit surgical abortions earlier in pregnancy. The website also chillingly states that “Abortion
at any stage of pregnancy is legal and protected in Colorado. You may safely come to Colorado
for care from any state or country, and your privacy will be protected.”

It is sickening that a self-proclaimed “clinic” will be ending the lives of potentially thousands of
children in the coming weeks, months, and years (if left unchecked by the grassroots pro-life
movement and good, pro-life champions in office). Furthermore, the primary purpose of this
organization’s founding is to commit abortions in the last trimester of pregnancy, in which babies
are fully developed, capable of feeling pain, and considered “viable” – meaning they generally
survive after being born.

No part of RISE’s mission statement or website even mentions having late-term abortions for the
purposes of health complications or other sham excuses. Their website simply proclaims “YOUR
REASON IS YOURS.”

Third-trimester abortion vendors are not even hiding their barbarity anymore; instead, they are
openly ending the lives of perfectly healthy, viable children, for any reason, on demand. For
those who stubbornly believe that late-term abortions don’t happen, it’s as easy as calling a
facility like RISE and asking (as SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins and Lydia Taylor Davis have done
on multiple occasions).

Late-term abortion is widely unpopular among the American public, and this is particularly seen
among Millennial and Gen Z voters. According to SFLA’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life
Advancement, a mere 9% of 18-42 year old voters supported the Democratic Party’s platform of
abortion-on-demand for any reason. As more awareness is brought to the topic of abortion and
how they are committed, particularly third-trimester abortions, public opinion is slowly but
surely moving away from supporting the brutality of late-term abortion.

Now, more than ever, the pro-life movement must fight to keep bringing awareness to the
abortion industrial complex and the barbarity of abortion procedures that our broken culture has
tragically come to accept as “normal.”
