Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), stood as a resolute defender of the most vulnerable among us—the preborn. His passionate engagement with the issue of abortion marked him as a leader in one of the most critical human rights battles of our time.

Kirk’s partnership with Students for Life of America (SFLA) on causes such as exposing abortion vendors, in what SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins has described as the “David v. Goliath” battle, underscores his commitment to protecting Life at all stages.Kirk and Hawkins teamed up in an ad designed to air during the Super Bowl, to draw max attention to defunding Planned Parenthood once and for all.

His advocacy extended far beyond words. 

He brought the fight for Life into the public sphere, using his platform and voice to reach millions. He stood tall in the belief that authentic freedom and justice for all begins with protecting the right to Life for every human being. We here at Students for Life were lucky to consider him a friend in his short time here on Earth.

At Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) fifth annual National Pro-Life Summit, this unwavering dedication to Life was recognized when SFLA President Kristan Hawkins presented Charlie Kirk with the prestigious Defender of Life Award.

Influence on Young Americans: Shaping the Next Generation

Charlie Kirk’s reach and influence among young Americans are nothing short of transformative. His tireless efforts to engage Millennials and Gen Z voters—now nearly 48.5% of the electorate—was pivotal in shifting the national conversation about abortion. Kirk recognized that the future of America rests in the hands of its youth, and he had made it his mission to inspire and mobilize college students across the country.  He gave his very life to broaden dialogue between opposing views in this country. 

During the 2024 election, Kirk was unapologetically outspoken about the dangers of state abortion ballot initiatives, such as Florida’s Amendment 4 and Arizona’s Proposition 139. By meeting young voters where they were, Kirk has helped foster a generation that refuses to accept the radical pro-abortion agenda, rejecting the ticket of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz—which was described as the most extreme ticket in presidential history on abortion.
