Students for Life Protests ‘Judicial Insurrection’ Taking Place in America as Activist Federal Judge Pauses Defunding Planned Parenthood & All Abortion Vendors

The Case TOMORROW in Boston may soon head to the Supreme Court

MEDIA ADVISORY:

The Pro-Life Generation Will Protest Rogue Judges at the U.S. Supreme Court

9 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET on Friday, July 18th as a crucial hearing takes place elsewhere

“We are witnessing a judicial insurrection, as activist federal judges appoint themselves as our kings, case by case. If Judge Talwani wanted to fight for her version of a ‘Big, Beautiful’ Budget Bill, she should have run for Congress or even President, but second-guessing the decision to cut abortion vendors out of healthcare isn’t her call to make,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “We stand in support of President Trump and Congress as they fight for common-sense budget cuts and push back against an imperial judiciary. Keep fighting! And Congress should also look at impeaching judges who abuse their authority to force their personal views.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (07-17-2025) – As District Judge Indira Talwani holds court in Boston on Friday in Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc. et al v. Kennedy et al, No. 25-11913, a case in which the abortion mega-provider argues that Congress cannot cut Planned Parenthood and all abortion vendors out of taxpayer funded healthcare, a protest will take place. Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be outside the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. at the same time as the hearing, denouncing the kind of judicial tyranny in which one branch of government consistently tells the other two that they have no right to exercise their authority. The federal case could be headed to the Supreme Court, considering the trajectory of other such legal tantrums.

“The hypocrisy of the activist left’s ‘No Kings’ protests isn’t lost on us because it’s clear that they don’t really mean it. They just want an ‘imperial judiciary’ to rule rather than hearing from duly elected leaders. We must stop letting judges usurp the will of the people. It’s time to talk about impeaching judges,” said SFLA President Kristan Hawkins. “Members of Congress agreed with President Trump that abortion vendors did not belong in our nation’s taxpayer-funded healthcare program. They have the power of the purse, making this Obama-appointed judge an arrogant manipulator of the law for her own policy preferences. If she doesn’t like it, she can run for office. Being good a paperwork doesn’t create a right to taxpayer support. Planned Parenthood can go fund itself.”

The hearing on Friday relates to a temporary restraining order attempting to block cuts to Planned Parenthood, claiming that patients will be “irreparably harmed.”

Hawkins called claims that patients would lose good service “a joke on the American taxpayer.”

She continued: “Not even the New York Times thinks Planned Parenthood is good at their self-appointed job. Planned Parenthood has fewer than 600 locations compared to more than 19,000 alternatives through Federally Qualified Health Centers and look-alikes. The difference between the two is full-service care. One offers healthcare to all, planning for all patients to survive their visit. One offers death by intentional abortion, first and foremost. Never forget that Planned Parenthood could keep all the federal money if they gave up committing abortions.”
