“God, keep Your hand on my baby.”
This is the prayer that Amanda Foster, a young pregnant mother, lifts to the Lord before every ultrasound appointment. Little did she know that her latest ultrasound appointment would bring an overwhelming surprise.
During her latest ultrasound appointment for her preborn baby, Kyler, her daughter, Bailey, noticed something interesting on the ultrasound screen. She asked me whose hand it was, and her husband, Kyle, wondered the same thing.

She wasn’t talking about the baby’s tiny, still forming fingers. Instead, what looked like a hand covering her baby’s head.
At that moment, she realized that God had answered her prayers.
Foster took to Facebook to show this incredible, supernatural reminder, writing, “Thinking about this last night more and more brought me to tears and just to be so thankful for all he (God) has and continues to do for me. And I couldn’t ever fathom a thought of living without him in my life!”
This story is a powerful reminder of how loved every preborn child is by God.
Of course, not every ultrasound shows God’s hands on a child, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t there. The Bible states that God’s hands are not only on every child, but His hands knit each and every child together.
Psalm 139:13-16 reads: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them.”
Every child is fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s divine image: humans are His creation. No person has the right to intentionally kill any preborn child as it’s being knit together in their mother’s womb by God’s design.
When Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins shared this incredible story on her Instagram, it received over 640,000 views, and for good reason.
Life in the womb is always a show of God’s beautiful creation, no matter the circumstance. The fact that God chose to reveal Himself through Baby Kyler so that thousands of people could be reminded to protect and love Life is proof of His creativity and love.
We pray that God’s hand be on all preborn children, no matter the circumstances of their birth, where they are in the world, or how valued they are by others. Baby Kyler and all preborn children are always valued by God.
