Riley Gaines & Her Preborn Baby Join Event to Champion Life and Fairness at Every Stage

WASHINGTON, D.C. (06-23-2025) – As National Celebrate Life Weekend approaches, the Pro-Life Generation (PLG)celebrates a major victory—reaching its ambitious goal of collecting 392,715 EveryLife diapers, symbolizing the number of children slaughtered by Planned Parenthood each year as reported in their 2022-2023 annual report, the most current math available when the diaper drive began. Students for Life of America (SFLA) and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins will host a series of events that will feature expectant mother Riley Gaines, a courageous voice and advocate for the unique gifts that women bring to both culture and politics. 

“Riley Gaines’ courage in the face of those who reject the dignity of Life embodies the spirit of the Pro-Life Generation,” said Hawkins. “Her grace under fire, even while bullied publicly, proves that the culture is shifting toward commonsense and a renewed respect for Life. We’re honored to welcome Gaines as she encourages the Pro-Life Movement during our historic Nation’s Largest Diaper Drive & Rally.”  

Gaines and Hawkins will be joined by Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood executive and founder of And Then There Were None. More details will be announced before the events.   

In addition to raising 392,715 EveryLife diapers, Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) Nation’s Largest Diaper Drive & RALLY focuses on our continued demand for Congress to defund abortion vendors, including Planned Parenthood, an organization whose money makers include sterilizing “treatments” of vulnerable minors as well as life-ending abortions.

“Planned Parenthood’s plan is that no one holds a child of their own and doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way,” said Hawkins.  

In their recently released 2023-24 annual report,Planned Parenthood reported that the number of abortions they commit annually rose to more than 402,000, and also noted: 

•  Though they saw a less than 2% patient increase compared to the previous report, Planned Parenthood received a 13% federal funding increase—from $699.3 million in 2022-2023 to $792.2 million.      
• Taxpayers are more on the hook than ever to support them, now forced to cover 39% of their total budget, up from 34%.     
•  Adoption referrals are stagnant, reported at 2,148, compared to 1,721 in the previous report.     
• “Other services” hide the true data on Planned Parenthood’s sale of sterilizing hormones to minors.     

In addition to calling for Planned Parenthood’s defunding and highlighting the pro-life movement’s commitment to offering resources to life-affirming programs, Hawkins, Gaines, and other guests will also speak at the events.

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY, JUNE 27th-29th: National Celebrate Life CONFERENCE. The conference will offer training & strategy to rally and educate the Pro-Life Generation and key legislators. Closed to the media.   

FRIDAY, JUNE 27th: National Celebrate Life GALA. The confirmed speakers will participate in a program highlighting the help available for mothers and their children, both born and preborn.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28th: National Celebrate Life WeekendDiaper Drive & RALLY to Defund Planned Parenthood.  An hour-long rally featuring speakers such as Abby Johnson, Riley Gaines, and Kristan Hawkins will precede the distribution of at least 392,715 EveryLife diapers – each one representing a preborn baby’s life ended by Planned Parenthood last year — to Pregnancy Help Centers (PHCs) and families in the local community.
