The mainstream media needs a “Journalism for Dummies” class for their most recent dishonest smear.
Numerous national media outlets framed Lone Star State police for tracking down a woman who took Chemical Abortion Pills. The headlines are anything but good journalism.
“A dystopian surveillance fear has become reality in Texas,” reads The Guardian.
“Texas cops use dystopian surveillance method to track down woman trying to leave state for abortion,” writes the Daily Mail.
Abortion pundits are desperately trying to paint this as the new dystopian 1984, much like California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s laughable ad claiming red states want to lock women up. So, kudos to The Independent for not burying the lead – i.e. the REAL reason Texas authorities were desperate to find her. According to The Independent, law enforcement utilized the “nationwide network of tens of thousands of automatic license plate readers” to find a woman they believed could be in a life-threatening situation.

The Independent reports that the woman’s family was gravely concerned about her safety, so they contacted authorities “worried that she was going to bleed to death, and we were trying to find her to get her to a hospital.”
As abortion supporters flock to berate Texas, a state where abortion is prohibited except to save the mother’s life, we wonder what led the family to be so worried and panicked that they would call the police.
Perhaps the abortion zealots’ ongoing pro-life smear campaign had the opposite effect they were going for.
It feels like ages ago, but during the 2024 election, the media outlets in line with the Democratic Party churned out abortion horror stories like their lives depended on it. Some celebrities joined in, like when Chrissy Teigen publicly conflated abortion and miscarriage using her own pregnancy tragedy.
The motive behind the media narrative twist was clear: spin the stories to blame pro-life laws and Americans.
Remember Amber Thurman, the Georgia woman who died, along with her twins, after taking Chemical Abortion Pills at home after reportedly missing her surgical abortion appointment? While some of the details are fuzzy regarding whether or not Thurman was warned about the risks or whether she disclosed she had twins, the abortion media pointed the finger at Georgia’s Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act (LIFE Act), which prohibits abortion when a baby’s heartbeat is detected with exceptions to save the Life of the mother.
In reality, taking Chemical Abortion Pills without any medical supervision is extremely risky, even if women “follow the instructions.” As Students for Life of America (SFLA) already pointed out, the abortion industry doesn’t “insist on ultrasounds” or “detailed informed consent for mothers” when it comes to the deadly risks of the pill concoction.

Tragically, this Georgia mother became the victim of the abortion industry’s wild west of Chemical Abortion Pills. She reportedly experienced sepsis and later passed away at a Georgia Emergency Room (ER).
Is it possible that it all backfired?
Portraying pro-life laws as dystopian and abusive—and downplaying the Chemical Abortion Pill’s dangerous rap sheet—has backfired. It’s opened people’s eyes to not only the brutal realities of the abortion industry but their willingness to twist the truth for their benefit.
We don’t pretend to know the whole story about this woman and her family. However, looking at this story, it certainly appears that this family didn’t fear pro-life laws – but the Chemical Abortion Pills themselves.
Last month, every American was given good reason to shudder. The Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) 2025 study titled “The Abortion Pill Harms Women” found that “Serious adverse events from mifepristone are approximately 22 times more frequent” than the FDA reports, which means that more than 1 in 10 patients will “experience at least one serious adverse event.”
Americans have more reason to fear REAL risks from Chemical Abortion Pills rather than pro-life fables from the abortion media.
While national media outlets are digging into this story and twisting the facts, SFLA isn’t falling for it, and we have a feeling the American public isn’t either.
