A beacon of hope shines brightly in the Midwest, and that beacon is Wild for Life at Wayne State College!
They earned April’s Group of the Month Award by never ceasing to be a pro-life presence on and off campus. When most campuses are winding down for the year to prepare for finals, Wild for Life chose to end with a grand finale.
From fun to nitty gritty, they did it all this month. They hosted a showing of the powerful movie Unplanned, which changes minds and reenergizes pro-lifers everywhere. Then, an hour away, they volunteered at the Pregnancy Help Center (PHC) and sidewalk counseled at a Planned Parenthood in Sioux City.

When their Regional Coordinator, William Anderson, came to town, they hosted the Think Before You Drink Campus Tour. They went above and beyond by sidewalk chalking to advertise their display, which resulted in 25 activations of people signing up for their group and signing Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) petition to tell Congress to take action against Chemical Abortion Pills, which harm women and preborn children.
And they even hosted their second annual sand volleyball tournament, raising $460! This creative fundraising will support their pro-life efforts on and off campus.
Last but not least, they also hosted a “Free Speech Board.” This board was a trifold with a piece of paper to participate in a poll. One side said, “Abortion should be legal,” and the other said, “Abortion should not be legal.” In the middle, people could put where they stand on the issue if they were not entirely on board with either side of the problem. This was a great opportunity for the group to have hard conversations and try to change the hearts and minds of their peers!
Wild for Life President Anna Massman reflected on the importance of being present and active on campus:
“I think that it can get pretty difficult to be part of such a controversial group, whether it’s connected to a campus or not. Ultimately, though, it’s so important to continue hosting public events, seeing people face-to-face, and growing in relationship with everyone, even if they disagree with what we stand for.
At the end of the day, protecting life is more than just a belief. It’s a constant witness to the fact that each person holds intrinsic value from the moment of conception. Every life has value, so genuinely listening to and speaking with everyone, regardless of where they stand, serves as an important testimony to this truth. Every life story is worth telling, and every life is a miracle worth protecting.”
SFLA is excited to give them this well-deserved award and see what other great pro-life wins they accomplish this year.
