Ever since President Trump announced expanded access to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) through an executive order, the internet has been in a heated debate around its ethical practices and moral implications.
On The Kristan Hawkins Show, Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins clears the confusion around IVF and common misconceptions about the practice. Though some may believe IVF is “pro-life,” in reality, it creates more disposable embryonic children who never see the light of day, treating them as if they’re second-class citizens. And secondly, there’s a cultural misconception that Americans are owed biological children. While it’s tragic when infertility occurs, we must ask if IVF is an ethical solution to the problem.
WATCH:
As Hawkins previously stated, “When people say they support IVF, we have to ask what does that mean? Support for the deregulated environment in which sloppy protocols lead to numerous mistakes? A willingness to violate the consciences of people with ethical concerns? No regard for the vast majority of human beings who are in the embryonic stage of life who will be discarded as trash, frozen, or experimented on and never be born (93%)?
A caring concern for people who want a family can’t be the reason we turn a blind eye to an industry with a lot of issues. The GOP needs to slow down and look at what business as usual means when turning children and women’s bodies as surrogates into commodities.”
Hawkins breaks down the IVF, brick by brick. Watch the full episode on YouTube.
