As the 2023-2024 academic year ends, Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be awarding groups with Best New Group, Best High School Group, Best College Group, and Best Standing With You Group distinctions – and you get to help us choose which groups deserve these awards. St. Louis University (SLU) Students for Life in St. Louis, Missouri, is nominated for Standing With You Group of the Year for their service to mothers and their children in the community during the 2023-2024 school year. Read about their accomplishments below to decide if they will receive your vote.

St. Louis University Students for Life is a powerhouse for life. Founded in 2006 and a thriving group for many years, their presence dwindled with the onset of COVID-19 in 2020. Though the pandemic caused group activities to cease, the chapter has grown steadily since its return in 2021. The group has 219 members, creating a sizeable pro-life presence on campus.

The group holds biweekly meetings throughout the year, which include apologetics, current abortion-related hot topics, political activism, and fundraising. SLU Students for Life has also hosted SFLA tabling tours to challenge their peers on campus.

Additionally, the group is proud to host events such as Chick-fil-A and Charity for diaper donations. For this event, they partnered with Chick-fil-A to host a supply drive to collect diapers and wipes for needy women in their surrounding community. The group also volunteers monthly at Our Lady’s Inn, a local maternity home for women needing housing and support during pregnancy. Their consistent dedication to these events showcases the commitment of SLU Students for Life to serving women and children in need.

SLU Students for Life also made their annual trip to the National Pro-Life March with a large group of students this year, providing a substantial pro-life presence on behalf of their university. The group hopes to continue training its members in pro-life activism and serving its community the following year, with goals of expanding service to a second pregnancy resource center and attending the March for Life with 20 people in 2025. The group’s returning members are excited to continue helping mothers and fighting for life during the 2024-2025 school year.
