GUEST POST: Saturday Night Live (SNL) alum and actress Leslie Jones was recently nominated for an award by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for praising Planned Parenthood.

If you haven’t heard of it, the NAACP says: “Our mission is to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.” Apparently, they don’t mean people of color in the womb.

Extremely pro-abortion, Jones posted to X (formerly known as Twitter) writing: “Beyond honored to be nominated for an @naacp Outstanding Performance award for my @TheDailyShow ‘After The Cut’ segment on the crucial role @plannedparenthood has played in my life.”

In her recently published book, Leslie F*cking Jones: A Memoir, she wrote about having multiple abortions. In her SNL segment, the 55-year-old actress explained how her mom got sick and her dad didn’t want to talk to her about sex. She expressed how she and many young girls don’t know much about sex or what is going on with their bodies. She went on to say, “That place, [Planned Parenthood] provides that type of information. You would not know how much they saved my life… We already got our rights taken away; we can’t get our healthcare taken away also.”

Which rights did women have taken away from them exactly?

Although Planned Parenthood provides birth control and sex education programs, they always push abortion as the backup. A former Planned Parenthood manager, Ramona Treviño, explained, “The more people use birth control and adopt a contraceptive mentality, the higher the odds that they’ll seek an abortion.”

Planned Parenthood is America’s number one abortion provider, committing more than 374,000 each year. Although black women are only about 14% of the population, they are sold nearly 40% of abortions. In New York City, thousands more black babies are aborted each year than born alive. It’s no secret that Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger, who held racist and eugenicist views and regarded individuals of brown and black communities as undesirable and unfit for society, likening them to weeds

It’s ironic how Jones claims Planned Parenthood saves lives when their primary purpose is to end them. According to their website, “the NAACP’s mission is to ensure the political, educational, equality of minority group citizens of States and eliminate race prejudice.” Why would an organization with a mission like that support the genocide of innocent minority children?

In 2024, over 88% of Planned Parenthood’s facilities are located within black or low-income neighborhoods. If they genuinely cared about the lives of black women, they would encourage women to choose life and push them to achieve their dreams with their baby by their side.

As a brown woman myself, I am appalled that Jones is promoting an organization founded on the purpose of ridding the planet of people who look like me. Women of all colors deserve better than Planned Parenthood.
