It’s horrific that not only does an abortion giant like Planned Parenthood exist, but this baby-killing business also receives funds from our federal government — and if you remember how taxes work, you know that means that each one of us taxpayers are being forced to support it. How much exactly are we putting into their pockets? A recent congressional probe found that number to be in the billions…and that’s just over a three-year period.  

Here’s what you need to know about this new report which magnifies our forced funding of the monstrosity that is Planned Parenthood:  

The report from the Government Accountability Office, which was commissioned by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) and Representative Chris Smith (R., N.J.) in January 2022, found Planned Parenthood has received nearly two billion dollars over the course of the Biden Administration. Specifically, the abortion vendor took $1.78 billion over a three-year period —and the way in which they received such monies wasn’t always on the up and up. (Go figure, right?)  

Beyond receiving money from Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP reimbursements, as well as grants and cooperative agreements, $90.41 million of the sum came in forgiven loans from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). This where we really take issue because Planned Parenthood truly didn’t have any business getting the PPP money.   

National Review explained why when reporting on this issue, writing: 

“The PPP program was intended to assist independent small businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Planned Parenthood affiliates were warned they were ineligible for PPP funding because Planned Parenthood’s corporate office supervises and controls its affiliates, providing considerable funding and support, the report notes. Still, more than three dozen Planned Parenthood affiliates applied for and received PPP loans.”

In a statement to the National Review, Rep. Blackburn said, “It is appalling that big abortion providers are continuing to receive billions of dollars in federal taxpayer funding. While small businesses struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic, Planned Parenthood illegally siphoned over $90 million from the Paycheck Protection Program, specifically designed to help our mom and pop shops keep their doors open. The American people want their tax dollars spent responsibly and in line with our nation’s values — not on the Left’s abortion-on-demand agenda.”  

Hawkins reacted to the news on the social media platform X with a concurring yet shorter message: “Go fund yourselves, Planned Parenthood.” 

Hear, hear — Americans want no part in support an organization that is actively harming our nation through killing our children. And did we mention they’re notoriously racist, as well? Founded by white supremacist and eugenicist Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood has stayed true to their racist roots as the organization targets minority communities (nearly 80% of facilities are located in minority neighborhoods) and is constantly embroiled in lawsuits from former employees, alleging racism.  

For a host of reasons, Planned Parenthood needs to stay out of our pockets.
