Are you looking for more pro-life experience? Check out local volunteer opportunities! Consider the Five Pillars of pro-life activism and determine which area you would like to learn more about.
Pregnancy Help Centers are a great place to start. This will give you an inside look to the centers that are caring for women in their time of need. You can help organize a baby item closet, assist and plan galas or fundraisers, or even learn how to be a client advocate to help women considering abortion. If you’re not sure where your local PHC is located, use OptionLine’s PHC finder.
Another great place to find volunteer hours is at your state’s Right to Life chapter, the Respect Life Department of your local diocese, or even Students for Life. At your state’s Right to Life chapter, you can learn about organizing local events and help make connections in the community. At your local diocese, you can help with tasks to advertise for events like 40 Days for Life or even suggest and plan new events to spread the pro-life word at churches. Remember, no task is too small. Even if it’s just running errands, answering phones, or writing up emails, pro-life organizations need all the help they can get. Every little bit counts!
Are you on Instagram, Facebook, or Tik Tok all the time? Then volunteer to manage social media for Pregnancy Help Centers or local pro-life organizations. They are always looking for fresh eyes to help advertise their services. Help them start and maintain Facebook groups and Twitter accounts, or design graphics and memes to help promote their organization on Instagram! If you’re majoring in something like graphic design or marketing, this is the area for you. You can apply what you’re learning and find the best practices all while helping further the pro-life cause.
Are you more politically minded or majoring in something like political science? Volunteer with your local pro-life representatives! You can find them here. You can learn about the political process from the inside, help push for good, pro-life laws, or even help write them. Legislators can always use help educating and activating the community!
