Students for Life of America Unveils National Billboard Campaign to Defund Planned Parenthood, Poised to Captivate MILLIONS

Students for Life of America to Reach MILLIONS with Launch of National Defund Planned Parenthood Billboard Campaign; 

Educating “Mushy Middle” Voting Americans with the Alarming Truth about the Abortion Giant  

“When people take our digital quiz about Planned Parenthood’s atrocities and blood money, the response from less informed voters is incredible. We know these national billboards will have the same effect,” said the President of Students for Life of America & Students for Life Action, Kristan Hawkins. “When voters are presented with the truth about Planned Parenthood—especially the nearly 400,000 abortions they commit every year—they realize this isn’t about healthcare. This is about lives and taxpayer dollars lost to the nation’s number one abortion vendor.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (04-28-2025) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) launched the National Defund Planned Parenthood Billboard Campaign this month to run in seven states throughout the spring and early summer. This initiative calls on Americans to contact key political leaders, including President Donald Trump, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, and U.S. Senate Leader John Thune, to defund Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion vendor. Another key goal is reaching the hearts and minds of millions of moderate abortion voters across seven pivotal states: Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.   

“With Roe gone, we can finally address Planned Parenthood’s misuse of scarce taxpayer resources, beginning with educating Americans about how much is lost to Big Abortion,” Hawkins said. “We cannot afford to let this moment slip through our fingers. With the right leadership in Washington D.C. and state legislatures, we can pass pro-life legislation, address the pro-abortion bias in our policy, and finally defund and debar Planned Parenthood.” 

This $75,000 media billboard campaign forms part of a broader strategic initiative launched earlier this year, targeting “mushy middle” voters—independents who do not firmly align with either side in the abortion debate.  

A portion of the campaign ads will direct voters to call Speaker Johnson and Senate Leader Thune, urging them to end taxpayer funding for abortions. Another portion of the billboard will guide viewers to SFLA’s “DefundBigAbortion.com” website, where they can take the impactful, mind-changing quiz. 

Since its launch, more than 61,000 voters have engaged with the quiz, resulting in a 36% mind-change rate among participants, including those who initially identified as “pro-choice.”  

This isn’t SFLA’s first billboard rodeo. Recently, SFLA launched the Capital Area Defund Planned Parenthood Billboard Truck Tour and Defund Planned Parenthood Cemetery of the Innocents displays, piggybacking off the momentum of SFLA’s nationwide Defund Planned Parenthood ACROSS America initiative, which included a press conference on Capitol Hill and more than 100 Life Chain events nationwide.

In the past, SFLA’s Standing With You, dedicated to providing information about services to women and mothers in need, launched a billboard tour in Denver directing women to an abortion alternative and resource website, StandingWithYou.org, which has generated a more than 14% increase in website traffic.

In July 2024, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) hit the road to stop at the Republican National Convention, as well as in the greater Chicago as part of its pro-life tour: The Defund Planned Parenthood Truck Tour through the Abortion Capital of the Midwest.
