Instead of getting champagne and a pat on the back from the abortion media, an abortionist in Champaign County, Illinois, is being served a lawsuit instead.
A recent lawsuit from a “Jane Doe” out of Illinois alleged that in April 2023, she went to Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle and his Equity Clinic for a surgical abortion when Doe was 22 weeks (around five months) pregnant. After Reisinger-Kindle supposedly “completed” the abortion, he confirmed that nothing was left in Doe’s womb.

However, according to Doe’s suit, this was far from the truth. This “doctor” allegedly botched her abortion, leaving part of her baby inside of her. When she reported the complications, she claimed that the doctor brushed her off, telling her to take Tylenol and laxatives.
The reported details of what was left of this innocent child are bothersome. According to the Chicago Sun Times, “There, parts of the fetus were found in her right pelvis and were surgically removed, according to the suit. Other parts that ‘were adhered’ to the patient’s intestines were also removed.”
She was later rushed to the Emergency Room (ER) and underwent “emergency surgery to remove the portions…that was left behind, the suite states.”
An obstetrician/gynecologist said in the lawsuit’s medical filings that Reising-Kindle “deviated from a reasonable standard of care,” to which Reising-Kindle has declined to respond or any other requests for comment.
Let’s make one thing crystal clear: no “standard of care” is high enough for an abortion, surgical or chemical. It never can be its very nature since every abortion is meant to carelessly, brutally, and intentionally kill a preborn child.
That being said, it’s no surprise to Students for Life of America (SFLA) that the standard of care afforded to vulnerable women seeking abortions is so appalling that even the most hardened abortion supporter can see it.

Not too long ago, the liberal and abortion-leaning New York Times came out with a bombshell report alleging Planned Parenthood’s atrocious facility conditions, untrained staff, and poor standard of care.

“Planned Parenthood clinics around the country are facing complaints of substandard health care and poor morale amid chronic funding problems, poor morale amid chronic funding problems,” reported The New York Times. “Planned Parenthood has been accused of improperly implanting a birth control device and causing nerve damage; inserting an IUD in a woman who was four months pregnant; and failing to upload sexually transmitted infection test results into charts, leading patients to wrongly believe that their results were negative.”
SFLA recently reported on their findings along with a likely explanation of where all of Planned Parenthood’s money is going if not to a “higher standard of care,” writing, “For years, Planned Parenthood leaders have continued to prioritize abortion public fights over customer care. Rather than putting needy women seeking care first, millions of dollars allegedly go toward playing politics and fighting in court.”
So, it’s reasonable to surmise that Planned Parenthood dabbles in politics and plays with women’s lives, but what about Reisinger-Kindle? Is it fair to assume that his “clinic” has atrocious standards like the New York Times reports of Planned Parenthood? What does one alleged “botched abortion” mean in the grand scheme of things?

Unfortunately, it’s not about an isolated incident. Proven complications from surgical abortion are numerous, as Charlotte Lozier Institute’s (CLI) Ingrid Skop wrote in 2023, noting the following surgical abortion side effects:
- Hemorrhaging
- Infection
- Retained pregnancy tissue
- Cervix damage to uterine lining
- Uterine perforation or rupture
- Injuries to surrounding organs
- Anesthetic reactions
- Overdoses
- Embolisms
- Cardiac or cardiovascular events
- Maternal death, in rare cases

“Deficiencies in U.S. abortion complication data collection hinder documentation of the magnitude of these risks, but it appears that complications follow at least 1-2% of suction aspiration abortions (the procedure performed in the first trimester),” Skop writes. However, with the abortion landscape changing, more risks could ensue. “Moreover, politicization of abortion provision has led to health department and medical board failure to supervise abortion providers, some of whom employ poor quality surgeons, leading to unexpected and severe complications. Such a permissive regime of abortion regulation puts women at further risk of complications from surgical abortions than they otherwise would be.” (emphasis added)
In 2025, we may be seeing the results of the “further risk” Skop warned about, considering the ever-loosening standards from the abortion industry. We hope that this story would be a somber reminder of the dangers of abortion for preborn children and women and that the public outcry would force the abortion industry to close their doors.
