The Nation’s Largest Abortion Vendor Gets a Botox Makeover

What do abortions and Botox have in common? Not much, it would seem. So why would the nation’s largest abortion vendor decide to put itself in the business of facial modification?

Last week, a Planned Parenthood in Sacramento announced it would be expanding its “services” to include not just abortions but Botox.

In a blatant attempt to square that circle, a Planned Parenthood official said, “I think, actually, aesthetics is in alignment with what Planned Parenthood stands for.”

“Planned Parenthood stands for bodily autonomy,” she said. “You decide what is best for you and what you need to feel good.”

That’s one explanation.

But just a few seconds of thought reveals Botox and abortion have far more in common than one might think: Despite their attempts to masquerade as medicine or self-care, both are completely unnecessary yet incredibly expensive. Even more telling, both produce high rates of repeat customers.

Planned Parenthood charges anywhere from $580 to $2,000 for abortions. Even when clients aren’t charged that much, Planned Parenthood still gets paid, whether by insurance providers or abortion fund networks. Meanwhile, Botox can cost anywhere from $200 to $2,000, depending on the specific service requested.

Those aren’t just one-and-done charges, though.

Abortion kills a baby, but in most cases, it doesn’t keep a woman from getting pregnant again. In fact, many women become pregnant again just weeks or months after their abortion.

According to one study, almost 40% of women who aborted their babies conceived again within two years. Over that timeframe, the reasons that led a woman to abort the first time likely haven’t changed — making that woman likely to abort her child yet again.

The same study found that 60% of women who aborted their first child also aborted their second child. Meanwhile, overall data suggests that 50% of women seeking abortions have had previous abortions. In other words: Abortion isn’t just expensive — it keeps women coming back for more.

The same is true for Botox. Botox treatments typically last between three and six months, but without regular appointments, one might risk losing its “preventive effects” — leading clinicians to recommend rebooking appointments every four months to “maintain the results.”

All this makes the abortion vendor’s move into the facial modification space unsurprising.

Planned Parenthood isn’t a compassionate health care provider driven by a desire to help women; it’s a business driven by a desire to pad its own pocketbook. There’s no other way to describe a supposedly nonprofit organization with over $2 billion in income and over $2.5 billion in net assets — an organization that made $178.8 million in excess in just one year.

But now, that business is struggling. Just a year after reporting the $178.8 million excess, Planned Parenthood’s excess income dropped to $27 million. Meanwhile, the organization’s affiliates are closing their doors as a result of financial frailties, with nearly 70 centers shutting down in 2025 alone.

It’s no wonder Planned Parenthood has decided to expand its practice to Botox — another lucrative “treatment” designed to hook women without offering a single ounce of actual care for their overall wellbeing.
