Event to Address Allegations of School-Funded Abortions Without Parental Permission THIS Thursday

“Fairfax schools must prioritize education and parental involvement, not secret abortions,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins. “The Pro-Life Generation will not stand for minors reportedly being carted away by their teachers for horrific abortions. Schools need to be educating the next generation, not paying to execute innocent preborn babies. That’s why we will stand together to STOP SECRET SCHOOL ABORTIONS.”

FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA (08-27-2025) — Students for Life of America (SFLA) will hold a STOP SECRET SCHOOL ABORTIONS news conference ahead of the Fairfax School Board Meeting this Thursday, August 28th, in response to allegations plaguing Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), that Centreville High School administrators approved and funded abortions for students without parental or guardian notification, which is required by law in Virginia.

SFLA President Kristan Hawkins noted, “Even Planned Parenthood knows that minors can’t get an abortion in Virginia without an adult’s permission. Leaving a vulnerable, impressionable minor in the hands of authority figures at school or a partner who may want to cover up a crime, cut off from family, represents a tragedy and an abuse that must be publicly investigated and stopped. The Pro-Life Generation will fight for the school children of Virginia where we have our headquarters, but we will fight for students in every school nationwide, we need to STOP SECRET SCHOOL ABORTIONS.”

STOP SECRET SCHOOL ABORTIONS EVENT OVERVIEW:  Concerned citizens will be speaking at the press conference, which will occur ahead of the FCPS School Board meeting at 7 p.m., where a schoolteacher, also an SFLA alumnus and Fairfax County resident, is ready to testify on behalf of SFLA.

“FCPS must fund our kids’ education, not abortion,” said Hawkins. “We demand full transparency in this investigation and for anyone involved in these actions to be held accountable. No school-funded abortions on minors—this is not controversial. We want abortion-free schools, plain and simple. We are calling on all Virginians to join us in demanding answers and immediate accountability if the allegations of taxpayer-funded and school-facilitated abortions are true.”

BACKGROUND:

These allegations originated from a Substack blog post that detailed the horrifying experiences of two 17-year-old girls allegedly encouraged by school officials to undergo abortions while their parents remained unaware.

The controversy intensified when Zenaida Perez, an ESOL teacher at Centreville High School, reported learning about the alleged student abortion during the 2021-2022 school year. Despite multiple attempts to alert administrators, Perez’s concerns were allegedly dismissed by school officials. She reportedly provided a letter to the school principal, signed and dated three years ago, to support her claims.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered the Virginia State Police to investigate FCPS following concerns that school officials facilitated abortions for minors at Centreville High School without informing their parents. Youngkin emphasized the critical importance of parental rights and transparency in education, stating, “Parents should be informed about significant decisions affecting their children.”

SFLA has long warned about the abortion industry’s infiltration into systems. The abortion giant, Planned Parenthood, boasted in its 2023 annual report that they reached 1.2 million young people with their core “curriculum.” Planned Parenthood tried to hand out pamphlets to high school students and made puberty-blocking and chemical abortion-promoting cartoons. Meanwhile, youth-targeted websites like Scarleteen promote sexually explicit content, including graphic language, articles, tips, and books that many would consider inappropriate for minors.
