Pro-Life Generation Honors Five State Lawmakers for Defending Preborn Children during the National Celebrate Life Weekend
“To Make America Pro-Life Again, we need state legislators who do more than talk. We need those willing to act with courage and conviction,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “Across the country, pro-life lawmakers must lead the way, advancing strong protections for preborn children and exploring innovative legislation. I’m honored to present these awards to five champions during National Celebrate Life Weekend.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. (06-30-2025) Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins recognized five state lawmakers for their courageous defense of Life during the first day of National Celebrate Life Conference on Friday, June 27th — one of several events held as part of the Pro-Life Generation’s annual Celebrate Life Weekend from Friday, June 27th – Sunday, June 29th. “These leaders didn’t back down when it mattered most during their state legislative sessions,” said Hawkins. “They faced pressure and opposition, but they stood firm for preborn children. The Pro-Life Generation sees them, supports them, and stands ready to follow their example in every state across the country.”
National Celebrate Life Weekend also included a RALLY & Diaper Drive that took place the following day on June 28th.
This year’s pro-life champions (in alphabetical order):
· West Virginia Delegate Chris Anders
· Former Oklahoma Senator Nathan Dahm
· Oklahoma Representative Denise Crosswhite Hader
· South Carolina Representative John McCravy
· West Virginia Senator Patricia Rucker
Lawmakers receiving this honor led with conviction—championing bold legislation such as the Life at Conception Act, Chemical Abortion Prevention bills, Clean Water for Life Act, & Heartbeat bills. They demanded recorded votes, even while facing intense pressure behind closed doors. Many emerged as the lone voice for preborn children in their state legislatures, risking their seats when they speak out boldly for Life.
But this national recognition stems not only from what these lawmakers accomplished, but from what they refused to do.
· They did not go along to get along.
· They did not sacrifice preborn babies’ lives for political convenience.
· They did not dilute convictions to win applause.
