A new Gallup poll highlights the Pro-Life Generation (PLG)’s success in shaping the post-Roe era, and the numbers don’t lie—young adults become increasingly disenchanted with abortion.
Since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision reversed Roe v. Wade in June 2022, support for Life continues to grow—especially among young adults between ages 18 and 29. This age group now shows the largest shift, proving that the next generation rejects the pro-abortion lobby’s lies.
The results? Pretty astounding. Check it out:
- Only 34% of young adults now agree that “abortion should be legal in all circumstances,” a drop of 14 points since 2022.
- Pro-life identification among young adults climbed to 37% this year, an 11-point increase since 2022.
Those numbers are not mistakes. Gone are the days when young adults believe everything they are fed by the mainstream media.
The truth about the violence of abortion, the shadiness of the industry, and the reality of Life in the womb is increasingly apparent, thanks in part to Students for Life of America (SFLA)’s grit and grassroots initiatives on campuses nationwide. The PLG is rising spectacularly, and they are choosing to stand for both women and preborn babies.
And it is not only women standing up for the cause. Young men are now embracing true masculinity–—going back to church, wanting to start a family, and standing up for babies. In an op-ed for the National Review, Dr. Michael New—assistant professor at the Catholic University of America and senior associate scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI)—wrote about the poll from Gallup noting: “In particular, increases in pro-life sentiment among young men might be responsible for these trends.”
Dr. New pointed out that several outlets, including the The New York Times and Axios, report increases in church attendance among young men in the United States. Many say this reflects a growing hunger for purpose, stability, and truth in a chaotic world. If we know anything about the pro-abortion movement, they are the opposite of stable, with their frenzied, immoral, and illogical arguments for abortion up until birth.
Dr. New also shared that an “Ipsos poll out of Great Britain found that men 16 to 34 were considerably less likely to support legal abortion than were other demographic groups.”
These numbers paint a clear picture showing that hearts and minds are changing on the issue of abortion, especially among young adults. As pro-life support climbs and extreme abortion views lose ground, we have every reason to feel hopeful.
The momentum is not a manufactured story. The change is tangible and real, and the PLG leads the way.
The best part, though? We are just getting started.
