Chemical Abortion at Its Worst: Texas Man Reportedly KILLS His Preborn Child, Poison’s Ex-Girlfriend’s Drink

Another sobering tale once again warns about the dangers of unregulated, life-taking Chemical Abortion Pills.

Texas police arrested and charged Justin Anthony Banta for allegedly slipping Chemical Abortion Pills into his ex-girlfriend’s drink, as well as tampering with physical evidence crucial to the investigation.

The BBC reported that Banta poisoned her and her child the same day as her six-week checkup when the doctor noted that her baby was healthy, had a strong heartbeat, and exhibited vital signs.

“Later that same day, the victim reported she met Banta at a coffee shop…where she expressed her suspicion that Banta had secretly added abortion-inducing pills to her drink without her knowledge or permission,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Sadly, Banta was successful in his kill quest, as his ex-girlfriend lost their baby a few days after the alleged incident.

This case of abuse isn’t isolated to this situation. Another tragic story comes from Mason Herring, who only received 180 days for drugging his pregnant wife’s water with Chemical Abortion Pills. Catherine Herring went into premature labor, and her daughter, Josephine, was born 10 weeks prematurely and barely weighed over three pounds. Thankfully, Josephine survived, a powerful reminder that every life matters.

Yet another case made the news recently when a Department of Justice (DOJ) employee allegedly poisoned his pregnant girlfriend’s drink and cookies with Chemical Abortion Pills.

We have loose Chemical Abortion Pill regulations to thank for that, and this isn’t the first time that Students for Life of America (SFLA) has reported on how the lack of regulation around Chemical Abortion Pills opens the door for abusers to coerce or deceive women into killing preborn children.

For example, Banta’s ex-girlfriend reportedly said he suggested the website Plan C, which is comparable to the black-market Amazon of Chemical Abortion Pills.

In fact, I recently wrote an op-ed for The Federalist regarding Plan C’s appalling lack of safety guards around Chemical Abortion Pills, allowing anyone to obtain them without identification, pregnancy verification, medical checkup, or prescription.

“It would easily accept my lie about pregnancy verification, how many weeks along I was, and the verification of my identification,” I shared. “This means abusers can easily order pills, or women can lie about how far along they are in pregnancy, increasing the medical risks and endangering their preborn children.”

All of this takes about 30 seconds, as long as it takes to order from Starbucks or go through the McDonald’s drive-thru. As I noted, accessibility doesn’t equal safety: “Industries require safety standards for a reason: the automotive industry installs seatbelts, brakes, and doors in cars, and the government requires driver’s licenses for vehicles. While it’s less ‘accessible,’ it’s far safer.”

When it comes to Chemical Abortion Pills, “the car isn’t even worth driving.” These pills kill, especially in the hands of abusers.

No baby deserves to die at the hands of an abuser. At SFLA, we hope that true justice is done for not only the preborn children but their mothers as well.
