Abigial Payne’s pregnancy journey started off perfectly normal, until her gender test revealed not only the baby gender, but “Triple- X syndrome.”

SFLA ends this summer’s ALMOST ABORTED stories with two more testimonies, Abigail and her boyfriend share their brave choice for their child’s life. ALMOST ABORTED’s six-figure national messaging campaign has featured multiple inspiring stories alongside Abigail’s, including Faith, Rebecca, Josiah, Angela, Lily, Hope, Mia, Micaella, Tina, Karen, Rose, Melissa, and Kristan

Abigail and her boyfriend were excited about her pregnancy. She took prenatal vitamins, went to all the necessary appointments, prepared for the baby, and also got a Non-Invasive Prenatal Test, which would tell the gender of the child and indicate any potential chromosomal disorders.

“When we got the test results back, my boyfriend and I found out that we were having a girl, and we were so thrilled,” Abigail told SFLA. “But as we kept scrolling through the results, I saw our daughter had tested positive for having something called ‘Triple- X syndrome.’ After Googling Triple X Syndrome, we read how our daughter could have kidney problems, developmental delays, and other dangerous health issues.”

They were referred to a high-risk doctor, who told them they could “consider their options.” She told them Abigail’s baby could be fine, or they could choose not to “continue the pregnancy.” Abigail looked at her boyfriend and promptly told the doctor they were continuing the pregnancy and giving birth to their baby girl.

“That conversation still brings tears to my eyes,” stated Abigail. “Not only because of how difficult that experience was, but because I realize how many mothers must cave to the pressure some of these doctors give you.”

Abigail’s daughter was born healthy and happy, and today, Abigail is encouraging women to not allow abortion to be an immediate answer to any potential health risks for their child. Women can confidently choose life, even in a potentially challenging diagnosis.
