HALT PHARMACY ABORTIONS: SFLA sends Letters to the CEOs of Costco, Walmart, Rite Aid, Publix, Albertsons, & Kroger asking they refrain from distributing deadly Chemical Abortion Pills

MEDIA ADVISORY/SCOTUS EVENTS: Students for Life of America’s SCOTUS Squad to Rally in opposition to deadly Chemical Abortion Pills at U.S. Supreme Court and Walgreens HQ

WASHINGTON D.C. (03-25-2024) – Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins sent letters to the CEOs of some of the leading retail pharmacy locations in the country today, on the eve of the Supreme Court Case U.S. Food & Drug Administration v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, in which approval of deadly Chemical Abortion Pills faces challenge over the FDA’s failures in adequately taking steps to ensure that women and young girls are not harmed even as young lives in the womb are ended. “However this case turns out, the Pro-Life Generation is looking for pharmacies offering life-affirming care,” noted Hawkins. “Chemical abortion pills expose women to risks of injury, infertility, and even death. And stories nationwide illustrate how abusers use the pills against women and that mistakes can be made. The business of death by abortion pills is one to avoid. It’s bad for women; bad for babies; and bad for pharmacies.”

In the Letter, Hawkins writes:

“The reckless effort to coerce medical professionals into the business of abortion, especially regarding the sale and distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills, is headed to neighborhood pharmacies like yours. Big Abortion Pharma and their political allies have used the FDA to reduce health and safety standards (REMS – Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) for the distribution of the two-pill combination that in the United States is used to end preborn life in the womb. But the risks they are willing to accept to further their business interests could result in injuries to patients that pharmacist could be held accountable for, with business ending, license-revoking results, abortion pollution and even felony prosecutions …”

SFLA also filed an amicus (friend of the court) brief in the Supreme Court case, noting that the harms from the chemically-tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains flushed into America’s waterways is a potential environmental hazard to endangered species that has not been addressed – one more reason to pull the deadly concoction from the market. This is an extension of our work at the FDA, in which four precursors to legal action – Citizen Petitions – have been filed about the health risks and environmental harms of Chemical Abortion.

The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) is an umbrella organization encompassing the most-cutting edge engagement opportunities for a Vote Pro-Life First Community. PLG includes Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), that together make up the nation’s largest, pro-life youth organization, managing a grassroots political and policy operation engaging Americans of all ages but with a special emphasis on the largest segment of voters — the Youth Vote. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, PLG/SFLA/SFLAction serves more than 1,400 groups on middle, high school, college, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. Our team has more conversations with this generation targeted by the abortion lobby than any other pro-life operation in the world, each week reaching more than 4 million across social media platforms and averaging 1.3 million video views. In addition to SFLA/SFLAction, PLG leads multiple initiatives to lead and serve the future of the pro-life movement including the Campaign for Abortion Free CitiesStanding With You, and the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement . Over more than 17 years, PLG CEO Kristan Hawkins has grown the operation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.
