Wisconsin Judge Makes a Joke of a Ruling: Somehow, Abortion Doesn’t Count as Killing a Preborn Child?

Some things read like satire but are sadly true. Case in point? A Wisconsin judge recently ruled that abortion doesn’t count as killing a preborn child. If you’re confused because that’s the actual definition of abortion, we’re right there with you. Here’s what happened and how this ruling is negatively affecting the Badger State:

After the reversal of Roe v. Wade in 2022, Planned Parenthood essentially packed up shop in Wisconsin due to an 1849 state law that prohibited “intentionally destroying the life of an unborn child.” However, the abortion giant wasn’t too happy with the life-affirming law’s effect on their wallet and sued (no surprise there), claiming the law didn’t apply to abortion.

Unfortunately, Dane County Circuit Judge Diane Schlipper recently ruled in their favor, making the case that “consensual medical abortions” do not constitute killing a fetus. Instead, she interpreted the law to prohibit intentional attacks on a pregnant mother with the goal of killing her preborn child.

It’s interesting logic — so essentially, as long as more than one party is A-OK with it, killing another human being is fine? It’s not even considered killing? Mob mentality, it is then.

While we are on the topic of “consent,” who said the preborn child was okay with it? This is another example of the false label of “pro-choice” that abortion supporters clamor after…because you can’t call it “choice” if no preborn child has ever chosen to die. (That’s why the Pro-Life Generation should insist on the term “pro-abortion;” let’s call it like it is.)

Due to Schlipper’s decision, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin has regrettably announced they will be committing abortions within the state again — putting the lives of the preborn and women’s health/safety at risk. The lawsuit could still reach Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, but with the current pro-abortion majority, it’s unlikely it would be reversed there.

Our Wisconsin pro-lifers know what that means — it’s time to step up sidewalk counseling efforts in front of abortion facilities and overall community outreach. No woman must feel that she stands alone; that she needs abortion. Instead, we will be there to love and support her, pointing her towards tangible resources like Students for Life of America’s Standing With You initiative that will actually benefit her and her child unlike abortion.

While we are truly saddened to hear of this ridiculous ruling and its implications, the Pro-Life Generation is only going to fight harder to protect and serve preborn children and women in Wisconsin.
