“Like many schools have tried to do, pro-abortion students at Wellesley College are attempting to cancel me by blatantly lying about me and my positions,” said Students for Life of America president Kristan Hawkins. “They are even attempting to cancel their fellow students who are members of Wellesley For Life, demanding the pro-life group be de-constituted on the basis that its members invited me to speak. Pro-abortion students who do not want to hear the truths I am coming to share do not need to attend my talk although I hope they do. However, they are not entitled to dictate which ideas may be discussed among the students on campus who are, unlike them, open-minded.”
WELLESLEY, M.A. (10-20-2021) – On Thursday, Students for Life of America (SFLA) President Kristan Hawkins launches her Fall Speaking Tour, The Future Is Anti-Abortion: Preparing For A Post-Roe America, with an appearance at Wellesley College. Pro-abortion students at Wellesley have taken the position that those who disagree with them on abortion and sex should be barred from sharing their ideas with more open-minded students.
Pro-abortion students at Hawkins’ first Fall tour stop, have spread misinformation about Hawkins and lobbied Wellesley administrators to not only cancel Hawkins’ appearance, but also to shut down the school’s only pro-life campus group, Wellesley For Life.
On Tuesday, the president of the school stated that Hawkins’ speech will not be canceled despite demands from pro-abortion students. Preparations are being made to address any violence instigated by protestors during the event.
Hawkins’ responded to the backlash, saying:
Disinformation being spread by pro-abortion Wellesley students includes the claim that Hawkins is “racist” and “ableist” — baseless charges made without evidence or citations and disseminated in a document posted on social media also containing the names of more than 700 individuals who oppose Wellesley’s decision to allow Hawkins to share her viewpoint on abortion.
During her speech at Wellesley, Hawkins will outline the Pro-Life Generation’s plan for a Post-Roe and Post-Dobbs America – including SFLA’s massive campaign raising awareness of nonviolent abortion alternatives, community support systems, and policy changes needed to help women and families thrive and stop them from being preyed upon by the abortion industry. Hawkins is known for sparking debate and backlash on university campuses when she states unapologetically that she seeks to abolish abortion and reverse Roe v. Wade. Hawkins will prepare the audience for the upcoming Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Supreme Court case which will potentially impact abortion laws nationwide.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), make up the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization and a political and policy operation engaging people of all ages. Together they work to end abortion — the human rights issue of our day — and provide political, legal, and community support for women and their children, born and preborn. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA has more than 1,250 groups on middle, high school, college, university, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. SFLA creates strategy, policy, and programming to connect those most targeted for abortion with people ready to help and builds a framework for political engagement on their behalf. SFLA and SFLAction have more conversations with those most targeted by the abortion industry than any other pro-life outreach in the world, reaching more than 2 million people across social media platforms each week and engaging in approximately 100,000 digital conversations per month. Over the last 15 years, President Kristan Hawkins has grown SFLA into a $15 million organization preparing for a Post-Roe America.
