Ahead of a vote on the Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation that would ensure babies that survive abortions are provided proper medical care, CNN revealed their true colors on how they view human life.

Writing for CNN, Caroline Kelly wrote that the legislation would protect a, “fetus that was born.” The article has since been amended but the disclaimer does not explain what has been edited.

For these comments, Kelly was blasted for her comments. National Review reporter Alexandra DeSanctis wrote on Twitter:

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, stated, “CNN needs a refresher course on basic human development…a baby born during an abortion and left to die is a victim of infanticide. These basic facts should be common knowledge. But the verbal gymnastics of the abortion lobby shows just how anxious they are to hide the truth of what they are working for — abortion up to and including infanticide.”

Other commenters made snarky responses to the CNN blunder:

Reacting to the vote in the Senate, which fell vote of the 60 votes needed to clear cloture, we released the following statement:

“It’s tragic that today a majority of Senators could not prevent the on-going inhumanity of late-term abortions and actual infanticide, taking place inside abortion vendor operations,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins. “The only silver lining is that every Senator and member of the House is now on record for whether they support medical care for babies born during abortions and for what protection they would offer preborn infants at 5 months of pregnancy and beyond. These votes matter, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a tragic day.”
