Last Friday, Students for Life Action and the Virginia Family Foundation brought around 20 students and adults to Richmond to talk to legislators about the importance of prohibiting abortion, fixing the foster care system, and promoting adoption. They were able to have their work highlighted by two state delegates, Nick Freitas and John McGuire, who work our baby socks on their suits while delivering powerful pro-life speeches.

In the morning, a group of students and pro-lifers visited legislators to talk to our legislators. We also wore baby socks as lapel pins as a show of solidarity. These are the same baby socks that we collected in our National Drive in 2017! We passed these socks out along with a position paper to 150 legislators, and several of them wore them during house speeches. It made a huge impact, and our presence was definitely felt in Richmond! 

Some of our concerns: 

• Opposing SJ2, a bill that would make abortion a constitutional right in Virginia 
• Supporting SB501, a bill we wrote to improve the Virginia foster care process 
• Supporting HB1484 and HB1551, which protect preborn babies from dismemberment abortions 
• Supporting HB227, which protects babies who survive abortions
