This past February, Choose Life at Pitt, a Students for Life of America (SFLA) group at the University of Pittsburgh, had the incredible opportunity to host a baby shower for Tianna, a courageous 18-year-old mom who chose life for her baby.
A few months earlier, group president Kyra Kishore heard about Tianna through another officer who had been working with her. Even though Tianna had shared that she was excited, she was also nervous about what this meant for her. However, the support of her boyfriend gave her hope- who stood by her decision to embrace motherhood.

When Kyra heard Tianna’s story, she immediately thought, “We can do something.”
The pro-life community in Pittsburgh is full of people who care deeply and give generously, and Kyra knew they would want to help. She created a baby registry on behalf of Choose Life at Pitt, starting with just six items, since she was not sure how many people would pitch in.

Within one day, every single item was bought.
Encouraged and excited by the quick response, she added more. By the end, close to $1,000 worth of baby supplies had been purchased for this sweet young mom!
At the baby shower, Tianna couldn’t stop smiling. The room was filled with love and support. Her mom and boyfriend were there too, both showing how proud they were of her and how grateful they were for everything she received.

The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) doesn’t just stand to educate on Life but encourages those who have chosen Life with swift action. We are proud of our groups that both do so well, and for the pro-life community that chips in to assist in incredible ways.
This story is a beautiful reminder that when someone says yes to Life, they don’t have to walk that journey alone.
