The abortion industry is scrambling to convince the public the Chemical Abortion Pill mifepristone is safe, but after so many have experienced the horrors, many are not buying it — and they shouldn’t.

A new poll conducted by the pro-abortion Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) shows that while many are familiar with the Chemical Abortion Pill, very few trust that mifepristone is safe.

Over half of the respondents could not call mifepristone safe, with over 4 in 10 saying they are unsure of the Chemical Abortion Pill’s safety and 1 in 7 calling it unsafe outright.

This is not shocking news. Students for Life (SFL) has been working tirelessly to inform the public of the danger Chemical Abortion Pills pose to unborn children, women, the environment, endangered species, and public health and fertility at large.

Not surprisingly, any confidence found in mifepristone appears to be shaky. “Less than half (44%) of adults say abortion pills are safe when taken according to a health care provider’s instruction,” KFF reported about the poll’s findings, meaning over half of adults do not feel confident in the safety of mifepristone even with an abortion provider’s guidance

According to the poll, most people are unaware of how prolific this dangerous pill is in the American abortion industry. Only just over 1 in 4 people knew that Chemical Abortion Pills are the leading method of abortion in the United States.

Despite this, people want the issue to be addressed. While trust in the current administration remains low, the poll reports that almost 6 in 10 voters want abortion policy to be addressed in the upcoming election cycle. These findings corroborate the findings of a January 2026 survey from Students for Life of America’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement, in which 7 in 10 youth voters called for limits on abortion and over 9 in 10 demanded a federal review of Chemical Abortion Pill policy.

This is understandable given the widening awareness of mifepristone’s effects on public health. Students for Life of America’s recently published peer-reviewed water study proved that mifepristone is in our water. Despite attempts by abortion propagandists to discredit it, the evidence has proven undeniable

The abortion industry and its vendors have spent decades lying about the safety of the drug. Abortion pushers continue to push the long-debunked lie that Chemical Abortion Pills are safer than Tylenol despite studies showing their extreme danger. Nearly 11% of Chemical Abortions lead to severe adverse events, including infection, hemorrhage, and sepsis, a rate 22 times higher than what the FDA reports. 35% of women who get chemical abortions must go to the emergency room within 30 days.

Preborn children deserve life, and women deserve better than being lied to about a dangerous pill that harms them and their family. Students for Life of America will not stop until the dangers of Chemical Abortion Pills are exposed, and abortion is not only unavailable, but unthinkable.
