Olivia Rodrigo just can’t stop pushing women to end the lives of their preborn children.
Not long after announcing her new abortion-funding music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, the pop singer met with one of her festival’s beneficiaries, the Center for Reproductive Rights, to trash pro-life politicians and advocates.
In a series of Instagram posts, Rodrigo and Hillary Schneller, Senior Attorney at the Center of Reproductive Rights, accuse pro-life laws of causing bad health outcomes for women, a long-debunked claim of pro-abortion advocates.
“Not very pro-life to harm these women’s health for the long-term and, you know, see them in the ICU,” said Rodrigo. “It’s just so terrifying.”
“It’s pretty hypocritical for anti-abortion politicians to call themselves “pRo-LiFe” when their policies are literally putting pregnant people in emergency rooms and impacting people’s future fertility…” wrote the Center of Reproductive Rights in the video’s description. “We all know what this is really about: control.”
Their discussion ignores that abortions are never medically necessary, and pro-life laws enable doctors to provide life-saving care to both mother and child rather than needlessly ending the life of a child.
Furthermore, pro-life laws often specifically allow doctors to provide treatment for ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, and other common pregnancy complications, distinguishing treatments for these conditions as different from abortions and not prevented by the law.
This means medical errors are not because of the pro-life law, but because of bad providers.

They also spread harmful misinformation about mifepristone, the deadly Chemical Abortion Pill used to end the life of a preborn child. Branding the drug as “safe” and “effective,” they ignore that Chemical Abortion Pills leave more than 1 in 10 women who take them seriously injured, a rate 22 times higher than what the FDA reports. Of women who take Chemical Abortion Pills, 29% report adverse events, and 43% required subsequent medical help.
Additionally, 10% of women’s pregnancies continued after taking the pill, and 18% needed a surgical abortion afterward to complete the abortion. Between 2017 and 2023, emergency room visits related to Chemical Abortion Pill use rose by 507%.
Abortion is not the empowering, health-conscious decision Rodrigo, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and other pro-abortion advocates say it is. What is truly empowering is supporting both women and children so all can live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives, not pressuring women to end the lives of their children for purported personal gain.
Students for Life of America will not stop fighting abortion misinformation until the culture becomes one of unending support for life — and abortion becomes unthinkable.
