What the Deaths of Chuck Norris and Kermit Gosnell Reveal About America’s Midterm Abortion Views

Within two weeks, Americans saw the deaths of two well-known figures, one famous and one infamous.

Infant killer Kermit Gosnell’s death was announced by the correctional facility that hosted his life sentence for various charges, including first-degree murder. Then, we learned of the sudden passing of revered actor, incredible martial artist, and pro-life American sweetheart Chuck Norris.

The stories of these two men could not be more different, but Americans’ reactions to both reflect the pro-life sentiments that exist within the American population.

The Horrific Legacy of Kermit Gosnell

In 2010 West Philadelphia, Dr. Kermit Gosnell was exposed for the horrible conditions and practices of his abortion business, Women’s Medical Society. The facility became infamous after it was shown that the abortion vendor “was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”

Gosnell’s office was filled with animal urine, blood-stained furniture, broken and unsterile medical supplies, and blocked exits. They administered drugs illegally: Gosnell would pre-sign prescription pads and let other workers fill them out for patients.  Attendees of the trial gasped at the images of his “house of horrors.”

All throughout the office, Gosnell kept jars of children’s remains: “in cabinets, in the basement, in a freezer, in jars and bags and plastic jugs.” The facility “was known to flush baby body parts down toilets and garbage disposals, resulting in plumbing backups and gruesome discoveries,” investigators reported. They plunged it one day and an arm popped out on Lancaster Avenue,” said investigator John Taggart. Medical staff were not licensed but were still referred to as doctors.

Gosnell was ultimately sent to jail for murdering children in the womb — and outside of it.

Gosnell was known for attempting to kill preborn babies past Pennsylvania’s 24-week gestational limit. When he failed — delivering babies “who were still moving, whimpering or breathing” — the unlicensed doctor and his staff would kill the newborns by “snipping” their spines.

Gosnell was found guilty of murdering three born babies in 2013 and died at 85 years old serving multiple life sentences.

The Beloved Memory of Chuck Norris

The world was shocked by the death of Chuck Norris. Famous for acting in “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Delta Force,” as well as his martial arts prowess, Norris had intergenerational fame and admiration that most in the public eye could only dream of. The U.S. Air Force veteran was 86 years old.

Despite the legacy he had to lose, Norris was an openly devout Christian who spoke up on behalf of preborn children.

Norris attended Prestonwood Baptist Church, part of the Southern Baptist Convention. He cited God as the thing that fills the void that leads so many in the spotlight astray.

“You know, unfortunately, in periods of my life, I did drift from the Lord, but the Lord never drifted from me. He stayed with me the whole time … and I just praise God for that,” said Norris to Trinity Broadcasting Network in 2004.

Regarding the preborn, he was an advocate for strong Republican action on the issue. In 2008, he penned an op-ed for WorldNetDaily entitled “I’m voting for those not yet born,” where he criticized Republicans who abandoned the pro-life cause for convenience.

“Abortion is not about a woman’s ‘right to choose,’” wrote Norris. “It is about a more fundamental ‘right to life,’ which is one of three specifically identified unalienable rights in the Declaration (and the Constitution through Article VII and the Bill of Rights). And it is a violation of government’s primary purpose: to protect innocent life.”

Norris predicted the dark future of radical abortion and pro-death policies. “We can couch our action in terms like ‘abortion,’ ‘termination’ or ‘a women’s right to choose,’ but it’s still the killing of an ‘inconvenient’ human life. And it won’t end there,” he said.

While some have suggested his politics may hurt his legacy, the internet has been filled with admiration for Norris through remembrances and internet humor and memes

What Two Opposite Lives Reveal

Abortion-crazy ideologues like Gosnell are the core of the modern Democratic party.

Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota is known for his horrendous and extreme abortion positions and policies, allowing preborn babies to be killed up until the moment of birth. He even repealed a law that required babies who survived attempted abortions to receive health care. Reports state that this led to the deaths of at least 8 newborn infants.

The wife of Gov. Gavin Newsom, a top contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, has come under fire for saying Christians are “pulling us back as a country” for opposing abortion. Gov. Newsom has increased Planned Parenthood’s funding despite their long record of lies and deceit that endanger and end the lives of children and women.

Another 2028 presidential contender, Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker, has started a new state program to encourage women from within and outside of his state to get abortions. He is also the founder of Big Think America, an organization made to expand abortion nationally. His administration attempted to force pro-life doctors to provide or refer for abortions against their will in violation of federal law

Meanwhile, Chuck Norris’ devotion to Christian values did not stop him from becoming one of the most beloved figures in American entertainment history — and his views are in-tune with young voters approaching the midterms.

A January 2026 poll by Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement, conducted and released by Survey USA, shows that only 1 in 10 Millennial and Gen Z voters support the Democratic Party’s position of no-limits abortion and infanticide. In fact, almost 7 in 10 want restrictions on abortion, and over 3 in 10 would accept higher restrictions if they knew the government would offer more support for children and families.

Gosnell’s flushing of babies into the water system also horrifies young voters. Almost 9 in 10 reported that they want a study into the environmental impact of Chemical Abortion pollution in our waterways, with nearly 1 in 3 saying it is “extremely” important to them. Not only that, but 94% want a review of the Chemical Abortion Pill altogether.

Students for Life has been clear: Americans don’t want the radical abortion agenda the modern Left pushes. And Republicans must act accordingly, as 32% of GOP voters said they are less likely to vote in the midterms if Republicans don’t fight against abortion.

Students for Life will not stop fighting for the future Chuck Norris called for: one with respect and support for all life. And we will not stop until radical abortion ideology is a distant, horrific memory.
