Beloved “Parks and Recreation” actress Aubrey Plaza is pregnant with her first child at 41 years old with a resoundingly pro-life message.

“There is a baby inside of me,” said Plaza on an early access episode of the “SmartLess” podcast.

Plaza continuously acknowledged the humanity and life of the child in her womb.

“I know, it’s shocking, isn’t it?” Plaza said. “I got an ultrasound on my stomach, and there is a baby in there.”

A representative for Plaza revealed the good news to People on behalf of her and her partner, fellow actor Christopher Abbott, the child’s father. Plaza was previously married to Jeff Baena, who tragically died of suicide in 2025.

This is not the first time Plaza has spoken openly about her reproductive journey. At 20 years old, Plaza had a stroke that she and her doctors believe was caused by the birth control pill she was taking. Her 2004 stroke left her with temporary paralysis and trouble speaking.

Plaza revealed her pregnancy on the podcast after being asked if she would take the pill again. “Well, there’s a baby inside,” she joked in response. “No, I said there is a baby inside of me right now.”

Plaza’s pro-life statements come in the wake of various pro-abortion controversies of other celebrities.

Pop singer Zara Larsson recently faced backlash for a crude comment she made on social media in response to a fan aborting the baby she was carrying while attending one of Larsson’s concerts.

“I killed the performance and then you killed it after the performance purrrrrr,” Larsson commented.

Larsson’s lack of remorse led to her losing a $3 million brand deal

Meanwhile, rock band Florence + the Machine has partnered with Planned Parenthood for their tour to push abortion on concertgoers. Florence Welch, the lead singer of the band, has been open about her experience with an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy care is protected under pro-life laws and is not considered an abortion

But Plaza is excited about her newfound motherhood.

“I’ve always wanted to see what it’s all about, you know?” said Plaza in reference to having children. “It just seems so interesting, the whole thing.”

All preborn children deserve to be loved and protected. Students for Life of America congratulates Plaza on this exciting news as we continue the fight against abortion.
