As we’ve come to the close of the 2021-2022 school year, Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be giving out three end-of-year awards for Best New Group, Best High School Group, and Best College Group—and you get to help us choose which groups deserve these awards! Read below to find out about one of the schools that has been nominated to receive Best New Group of the Year: The Noblesville Students for Life!

The Noblesville Students for Life group began in August of 2021, but they had quite a rocky start when they were suddenly denied official club status by their school principal. After months of enduring a legal battle and facing online harassment and cyber bullying from teachers and classmates alike, the Noblesville Students for Life group persevered. With help from SFLA, they won their lawsuit against the school for viewpoint discrimination.

After the initial hardship of beginning their group, the Noblesville Students for Life managed to gather 20 students for their first meeting, and their activism plans for next year are ambitious and altruistic.

One of their pro-life activism plans for next year includes building and decorating an entire pro-life float for the school’s annual homecoming parade. Their group hopes to deck out the float in pro-life signs, proclaiming the humanity and value of the unborn.

The leader of Noblesville Students for Life has also drafted a Title IX project with a specific rubric to grade her school on how supportive they are towards pregnant and parenting students. Looking ahead, the group is excited to encourage more club members to door knock for the Indianapolis Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, as well as hosting a few life-chains in the city of Noblesville.

Noblesville Students for Life has had quite a year, and they are an excellent example of the perseverance of the pro-life movement as they came victorious out of a legal battle and jumped headfirst into activism.
