MEDIA NOTE: BOTH EVENTS TAKING PLACE Tuesday, March 26, & Prayer Vigil at SCOTUS Monday, March 25.

“The Biden Administration has prioritized reckless distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills, without regard for the women made vulnerable to abusers and exposed to injury, infertility, and even death,” noted SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins. “The abortion extremists did not take time to check on whether their plans to dump chemically tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains in our waterways would hurt the environment. Even if you support abortion, that’s not a case for this reckless plan to push for a quick sale of these deadly pills. And pharmacy giants like Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid should do no harm and immediately end their plans to distribute Chemical Abortion Pills near our homes, risking women and water safety. The Supreme Court should demand the FDA go back to the drawing board, prioritizing women over abortionists’ financial interests.”

WASHINGTON D.C. (3-20-2024) – The Pro-Life Generation will be back in action nationwide next week in Washington D.C. and Chicago, rallying at the doorstep of SCOTUS as the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) approval process is debated as well as at Walgreens’ Chicago headquarters, given recently finalized plans to push Chemical Abortion Pills at their locations across the country. Tragically 20 years ago, the FDA fast-tracked the approval of a two-pill abortion regimen containing the dangerous drug mifepristone to bring on the U.S. market another way to kill a preborn child. In a case that challenges the hasty approval of the Chemical Abortion Pills as well as the lax concern for women and young girls, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has challenged the approval of the pills on behalf of pro-life physicians. The Pro-Life Generation’s SCOTUS Squad, comprised of Students for Life of America students and volunteers, will support ADF’s case as it is argued on Tuesday, March 26 as well as confront Walgreens in their reckless decision to allow distribution of the deadly drugs from their locations across the country.

SFLA filed an amicus (friend of the court) brief in the case, noting that the harms from the chemically-tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains flushed into America’s waterways is a potential environmental hazard to endangered species that has not been addressed – one more reason to pull the deadly concoction from the market.

“The FDA both determines drug guidelines and says reports the guidelines are met,” stated Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America (SFLA) and Students for Life Action (SFLAction). “They are basically accountable to no one else but themselves, and the Pro-Life Generation is ready for the Supreme Court to address that.”

SFLA Executive Vice President Tina Whittington will be at the Supreme Court speaking and rallying the Pro-Life Generation to fight against Chemical Abortion Pills and advocating for women and their preborn children.

“Now in California, they are offering chemical abortion pills through their state university health centers, University of Illinois has voted in doing the same, and CVS and Walgreens, the two largest pharmacy chains in the U.S., are also going to be selling chemical abortion pills. The widespread use of the deadly pills demands we stop and consider the life-and-death issues at stake,” said Whittington.
