As the 2024-2025 academic year comes to a close, Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be awarding several outstanding Students for Life groups with Best New Group, Best High School Group, Best College Group, and Best Standing With You (SWY) Group distinctions – and you get to help us choose which groups deserve these awards! Indiana University has been nominated for the best College Group of the Year.
The winning group from each category, selected by the Pro-Life Generation (PLG), will receive a certificate, a shoutout on our national social media accounts, and a $300 donation to help expand the group’s efforts further next school year.
Groups are nominated for the College Group of the Year award for going above and beyond in the Five Pillars of Pro-Life Activism in the 2024-2025 academic year.
About the Group
Students for Life at Indiana University was established in 2013. This year, the group hosted over 20 events on campus, including SFLA President Kristan Hawkins’ Fall speaking tour, a pro-life concert, and a prayer campaign outside Planned Parenthood for nine days leading up to the 2024 election!

They have been nominated for the best College Group of the Year for starting a Campaign for Abortion Free Cities (AFC) campaign in Bloomington and driving a 14-hour round trip to join our Michigan door knocking deployment during election season.
Read about their accomplishments below to decide if they will receive your vote.
Students for Life at Indiana University’s Top Accomplishments in the 2024-2025 Academic Year
Starting the AFC Bloomington Campaign!
For a long time, the Students for Life at Indiana University group has participated in the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities (AFC) to promote awareness of life-affirming resources in Indianapolis. This year, they took the next step by beginning their own campaign right in Bloomington. In only one year, the group has reached over 500 homes and connected countless individuals with the centers and resources to help families choose Life.

Michigan Legislative Deployment
Just because no major election efforts were happening in Indiana didn’t stop these students from getting involved. In the fall, members of the Students for Life of Indiana University group traveled all the way to Wayne, Michigan, to inform voters that pro-life champion Jim DeSana was on the ballot. In just one weekend, the group, along with other volunteers and SFLA staff members, knocked on 3,727 doors, encouraged countless individuals to vote for Life, and helped get Rep. DeSana elected!

Hosting Kristan Hawkins’ Speaking Tour
The group hosted SFLA President Kristan Hawkins during her “Make Abortion Illegal Again” Fall Speaking Tour and had over 70 people attend the talk. Hawkins also tabled and spoke with students before her speech and Q&A, having many amazing conversations to change hearts and minds on abortion. During the event’s promotion, the group hung up flyers around campus, but unfortunately, they experienced vandalism and had to put them up over and over again. Pro-abortion students even took down flyers right in front of group members.

Musica Vitae
Several core members of Students for Life at Indiana University’s leadership are aspiring musicians who “banded” together to start a pro-life initiative called Musica Vitae, which they are working on turning into an official non-profit. They use their artistic talents for the pro-life movement by raising money for Pregnancy Help Centers (PHC) and other local non-profits by hosting classical music concerts. This year, they hosted a concert that raised almost $5,000; to date, they have raised nearly $8,000.

COMING SOON IN 2025-2026…
Students for Life at Indiana University hopes to continue their leadership on campus by hosting five door knocking days and hitting 2,000 doors, participating in 10 on-campus tabling days (five in the Fall and five in the Spring), and hosting two concerts to fundraise for local Pregnancy Help Centers during the 2025-2026 academic year.
