“The Pro-Life Generation again gears up to take down Planned Parenthood,” said Students for Life’s Kristan Hawkins. “Our recent federal lobby day and media event were only the beginning, as we move to intensive grassroots education about the bloody business of abortion. This ‘Defund Planned Parenthood Billboard Truck Tour’ represents another effort from Students for Life to educate America’s students and encourage them to demand that federal and state legislators protect our preborn citizens and their mothers from a predatory industry.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (04-07-2025) – Piggybacking off the momentum of Students for Life of America’s (SFLA) nationwide Defund Planned Parenthood ACROSS America initiative, which included a press conference on Capitol Hill and more than 100 Life Chain events nationwide, SFLA will travel from Monday, April 7th, to Friday, April 11th around the Capital area, including in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, with the Capital Area Defund Planned Parenthood Billboard Truck Tour.
“This is a unique time in American history, when the call to defund Planned Parenthood has not only grown but is becoming an increasingly likely reality that the abortion industry fears,” said SFLA President Kristan Hawkins. “Now is not the time for the pro-life movement to get comfortable and complacent. As much as we’re riding the ‘Defund Planned Parenthood’ momentum, we must keep driving it forward.”
For five days, SFLA will take our mobile billboard truck on Capital Area campuses, along with the Defund Planned Parenthood Cemetery of the Innocents display. Our truck will run a series of “Defund Planned Parenthood” ads in the streets, as well as matinee and evening Unplanned movie showings.

This isn’t the first time SFLA has mobilized the billboard truck to fight poisonous abortion narratives. Last fall, during the 2024 election cycle, SFLA took our Abortion Extremism Mobile Billboard Truck into Florida, Arizona, Nebraska, and Missouri, where pro-abortion measures on their ballots would place into state constitutions measures far more radical than Roe v. Wade.
In the spring of 2024, SFLA hit the road to the Sunshine State of Florida with the billboard truck to educate voters on Amendment 4, which, if it had passed, would upend existing pro-life laws in Florida and enshrine abortion up until birth. Thankfully, the efforts of pro-life Floridians worked, and Amendment 4 failed to pass.

Before the billboard truck was born, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) went on the road for several weeks for our Stop Abortion Extremism Tour. This multi-city tour educated voters in key battleground states on Biden’s radical abortion agenda and recruited and trained young people through our Pro-Life Political Leadership Workshops.

The Pro-Life Generation (PLG) is an umbrella organization encompassing the most-cutting edge engagement opportunities for a Vote Pro-Life First Community. PLG includes Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), that together make up the nation’s largest, pro-life youth organization, managing a grassroots political and policy operation engaging Americans of all ages but with a special emphasis on the largest segment of voters — the Youth Vote. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, PLG/SFLA/SFLAction serves more than 1,500 groups on middle, high school, college, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. Our team has more conversations with this generation targeted by the abortion lobby than any other pro-life operation in the world, each week reaching more than 4 million across social media platforms and averaging 1.3 million video views. In addition to SFLA/SFLAction, PLG leads multiple initiatives to lead and serve the future of the pro-life movement including the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, Standing With You, and the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement . Over more than 17 years, PLG CEO Kristan Hawkins has grown the operation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.
