As if Colorado weren’t already pro-abortion enough, legislators are now weighing yet another abortion bill — this time, one that would require college and university health clinics throughout the state to offer Chemical Abortion Pills.
The bill, HB 26-1335, cleared the House Education Committee last week and is now set for consideration by the full General Assembly. If enacted, Colorado would become the fifth state to pass such a mandate, following in the footsteps of California, Massachusetts, New York, and Illinois.
Colorado already allows completely unrestricted abortion, making it home to late-term abortion vendors that offer abortions at 32 weeks and beyond. Not only that, but the state has enshrined abortion access in its constitution, and even mandates that abortion be covered by all publicly funded health insurance.
But apparently, allowing and even funding the death of children in brick-and-mortar “clinics” or via online vendors isn’t enough for Colorado’s state legislators.
There’s something dystopian about the fact that just feet away from where America’s youth are dreaming of their futures, others are being denied their chance at ever having a future.
Even more dystopian is that states are not only ordering the death of their own citizens but also forcing so-called institutions of higher education to be complicit.
Abortion has no place in society — and it certainly has no place in institutions meant to educate and mold students into men and women of character and insight.
It’s shocking for a state not just to permit and promote but to actively pay for the death of its children, all while forcing more institutions to facilitate that death. That’s an unimaginable culture of death — and it’s time for Colorado to reverse course.
