Students for Life Action calls for Passage of the Protecting Life on College Campus Act in light of the “Mass Casualty Events” on California Campuses caused by Chemical Abortion Pills

“As we feared, preborn lives are being ended on taxpayer-funded California college and university campuses. With reportedly more than 400 lives aborted already, this ‘mass casualty event’ would be breaking news if the cause wasn’t death by Chemical Abortion Pills. Even food poisoning would get more attention from California officials than this tragic loss of human life and potential. This is a misuse of our schools, turning them into abortion vendors and bringing the sorrow of abortion into dorms,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins.

WASHINGTON D.C. (03-14-2024) – Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins called a report on Chemical Abortion Pill distribution and use by the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls a “sad update on a tragedy. Rather than focusing on building skills and empowering human potential, publicly funded California colleges and universities have prioritized eliminating future students by adding death by abortion pills to their health centers. This was made possible by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s support for a bill that twice Students for Life Action helped defeat. Years from now, many young women will be mourning the children ended at school because of the anti-baby bias of his administration.”

As reported at College Fix: “In the first six months under the law, 427 chemical abortions were administered on campuses across the state … These included 203 at the University of California campuses, 162 at California State University campuses, and 62 at the UC Law at San Francisco.”

Students for Life Action calls on Congress to pass the Protecting Life on College Campus Act immediately, which would prevent federal taxpayer dollars from being awarded to schools where innocent preborn life is ended with Chemical Abortion Pills provided on campus,” she noted. “And we continue to call on environmentally conscience California to cease and desist this deadly distribution at least until we know more about the impact of abortion pollution, from the chemically tainted blood, placenta tissue, and human remains flushed into the waterways. As I testified in California, this is a potential danger to the environment from the expanded distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills.”

The issue of abortion pollution in our waterways is raised in a recent op-ed at FOX, that notes: “Consider water-starved California, which Gov. Gavin Newsom intends to make ‘an abortion sanctuary,’ and where officials are planning to recycle toilet water into drinking water. The Democratic Party’s bias in favor of abortion should not lead to tainted water. President Biden’s chemical abortion policies have created cemeteries in our sewers that requires a public health response.”

Students for Life of America & SFLAction have worked for years to protect California lives from the deadly distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills, working to defeat the measure bring pills to campus twice before Newsom signed the third effort into law.

SFLA responses include:

  1. A statewide-educational push informing women that the drugs Newsom champions expose women to injury, infertility, death, and abusers. SFLA will encourage women to get a free ultrasound at partnering Pregnancy Care Centers as women have died when taking the pills if they had an ectopic pregnancy – one that has implanted outside the womb. Online digital ads are a key component of this effort.
  2. An Emergency Response Toolkitto allow students among the almost 100 SLFA groups in California to engage with their peers. This is in addition to a campus tour planned on the dangers and horrors of Chemical Abortion Pills.
  3. A campaign letting women know their life-affirming options as mothers and students, through our Standing with You initiative. Also available is information on how to reverse the impacts of abortion pills if they change their minds and about help available for them, found at SFLA’s StandingwithYou.org.
  4. A connection to attorneys in California for injured women as well as healthcare workers whose conscience rights may be violated by the required distribution. As was reported on Fox News when the bill passed, SFLA will be a connection between women who may be harmed by Chemical Abortion Pills as well as healthcare professionals who know that deliberately killing your patients is not healthcare.

SFLA’s opposition to deadly Chemical Abortion Pills also includes filing four citizen petitions with the FDA, submitting two amicus briefs in on-going litigation, putting original YouGov polling into the field, advocating for legislative pushes at the federal and state levels, hosting networking meetings with strategic partners, and generating cutting-edge content at THIS IS CHEMICAL ABORTION, where more details on our response to the number one means of death by abortion can be found.
