“Students for Life Action supports efforts in Montana to protect children from the violence of abortion and ensure that pregnant women are not deceived by the money-grubbing Big Abortion industry,” said SFLAction’s Lucia Morud.
HELENA, MT & WASHINGTON D.C. (01-20-2021) – Students for Life Action/Students for Life of America’s Lucia Morud, Pacific Northwest Regional Coordinator, and Freeman Marshall, a student leader from Montana State University, the largest Students for Life group in the state, testified before the House Judiciary committee for the second day in favor of Montana’s HB 140 and HB 167, pro-life bills aimed at regulating the predatory abortion industry and rescuing children from the genocide of abortion.
Their statement reads as follows:
Students for Life Action supports efforts in Montana to protect children from the violence of abortion and ensure that pregnant women are not deceived by the money-grubbing Big Abortion industry.
The state of Montana reported the deaths of 1,674 children in abortion in 2018. This death toll would be represented by approximately 80 kindergarten classrooms full of children in Montana snuffed out in one year by abortion violence. These children are killed daily through chemical starvation, vacuum aspiration, dismemberment, and other barbaric acts that have nothing to do with “healthcare.”
Students for Life Action applauds House Bill 140, which will ensure that abortion facilities give women the chance to witness the humanity of their children and listen to their heartbeats via ultrasound technology. The corrupt abortion industry opposes this regulation because it has nothing to sell women who reject abortion as a consequence of encountering their children via ultrasound.
Students for Life Action also stands in favor of House Bill 167, which will ensure that all children born alive in the state of Montana are afforded the basic human dignity of medical care. That includes children born alive after abortions that failed to kill them.
Abortion survivors are a testament to the abortion industry’s agenda of death. For instance, Planned Parenthood tried to burn Gianna Jessen to death in a saline abortion when her mother was seven months pregnant. Gianna is now 43 years old and has spent her life advocating for the dignity of every child targeted by the abortion industry. HB 167 is a small but important step toward laws that recognize the dignity of life from its earliest stages.
On Tuesday, Morud and Marshall expressed their support for passage of House Bill 171: Abortion Inducing Drug Risk Protocol, providing much needed protections from the deadly distribution of life ending drugs, as well as House Bill 136: Establish Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a limit on abortion after 5 months of pregnancy, at which point abortion is even more dangerous for women and a horrific, painful experience for the preborn.
