The philosophy that “students should never have to choose between their college education and motherhood” drives the Empower Her Scholarship endowment fund for college students in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually and is open to pregnant or parenting female college students in the Lincoln area.  The project seeks to financially support student moms through pregnancy and parenting as they pursue their college degrees and move toward their careers, according to its website.

Stories on their “previous recipients” page show that mothers truly can do it all, as it features women who balance their schooling with motherhood. It is initiatives like this that show the workings of the Pro-Life Generation who is always willing to lend a hand or aid so mothers get the care they deserve.

Applications for the fund can be found on the website as well as options to donate or get involved with its mission.

Also noteworthy is that the project was spearheaded by a Students for Life William Wilberforce Leadership Fellow. The Wilberforce Fellowship is an SFLA initiative that propels college pro-life student activists to be local & national leaders.

Women need to know that there are loving options and assistance to help them through this challenging but wonderful time of their lives. Opportunities like this scholarship are vital for supporting mothers and help them know that they are powerful and capable of success.
