STUDENTS FOR LIFE OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES 10-STATE #JUSTICE4LIFE TOUR TO URGE U.S. SENATORS TO CONFIRM AMY CONEY BARRETT FOR THE U.S. SUPREME COURT

“We have waited half a century for this opportunity,” said SFLA President Kristan Hawkins. “It’s absolutely vital that the U.S. Senate vote to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court, and, as we continue to travel across the country inperson and virtually, we are activating a new generation of single-issue voters on the human rights struggle of our day – abortion.”

WASHINGTON D.C.  (10-20-2020) – Students for Life of America (SFLA) announced a 10-state #Justice4Life Tour this week calling on U.S. Senators to confirm Amy Coney Barrett for the U.S. Supreme Court and to urge voters to #VotePro-LifeFirst in this pivotal election.

The national tour has stops in West Virginia, Alaska, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Colorado and Arizona. #Justice4Life tour stops coincide with Students for Life Action’s (SFLAction) Activism Weekends, where students and volunteers will canvas to urge voters to #VoteProLifeFirst. With a Supreme Court vacancy in play, the importance of strong pro-life leaders in the White House, Senate, and House has never been clearer – which makes the need for voters to #VoteProLifeFirst even more urgent this Election.

“The importance of judicial vacancies has been a reason to vote Pro-Life First since 1973, making this moment in time critical to the future of our nation,” said SFLA and SFLAction President Kristan Hawkins. “The confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett offers a rare opportunity to put a Justice who will respect life in law on the nation’s highest court with the potential to impact millions upon millions of future lives. As we travel across the country in person and virtually, we will be activating a new generation of single-issue voters on the human rights struggle of our day – abortion.”

SFLAction conducted similar student trips over the summer, knocking on more than 50,000 doors and making more than 200,000 phone calls to educate voters in Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kansas. As a result, numerous pro-choice Republicans were defeated in primary races, including incumbent Arizona State Senator Heather Carter, who was unseated by pro-life challenger Nancy Barto. Click here to read more about SFLAction’s results in this cycle.

“What we’re doing this election cycle is working. Period,” said Hawkins. “We spend every school year building relationships with students. Now, we’re mobilizing them, and our efforts are having an impact in critical races across the nation.”

MEDIA NOTE: For critics who argue that Judge Barrett’s background includes pro-life associations, an abortion viewpoint is not unusual for Supreme Court nominees.
