As the 2024-2025 academic year comes to a close, Students for Life of America (SFLA) will be awarding several outstanding Students for Life groups with Best New Group, Best High School Group, Best College Group, and Best Standing With You (SWY) Group distinctions – and you get to help us choose which groups deserve these awards! St. Gianna Molla Society Pro-Life Club at St. Catherine of Siena Academy has been nominated for the best High School Group of the Year Award.
The winning group from each category, selected by the Pro-Life Generation (PLG), will receive a certificate, a shoutout on our national social media accounts, and a $300 donation to help expand the group’s efforts further next school year.
About the Group
St. Gianna Molla Society Pro-Life Club was established in 2020 and now has over 50 active members—just over 20% of the student population. St. Catherine of Siena Academy is an all-girls school in Michigan with approximately 250 students. The group hosted over 25 events on campus this year, including speakers from Right to Life, Protect Life Michigan, and a local Pregnancy Help Center, Mother and Unborn Baby Care.
This year, St. Gianna Molla Society Pro-Life Club held a four-day bake sale in honor of National Pro-Life Cupcake Day to fundraise for their National Pro-Life March trip. Additionally, they hosted a Life on Display, a live ultrasound of a pregnant woman performed by a registered ultrasound technician, to demonstrate the humanity of children in the womb.

Groups are nominated for the High School Group of the Year award for going above and beyond in the Five Pillars of Pro-Life Activism in the 2024-2025 academic year.

St. Gianna Molla Society Pro-Life Club’s Top Accomplishments in the 2024-2025 Academic Year
Fundraiser for Mother and Unborn Baby Care
St. Gianna Molla Club fundraised $900 for Mother and Unborn Baby Care simply by hosting a “dress-down day.” That day, the students could wear blue, pink, or pro-life apparel instead of their typical school uniform for a small fee. The group set a goal to raise $200 from this fundraiser, but they collected $900! Through this fundraiser, the group brought greater awareness of their group to the student body and shed more light on their fight against abortion in their community.

Assembling Birth Kits for Mothers Overseas
They also teamed up with another Students for Life group, Rocks Vitae from Detroit Catholic Central High School, to assemble birth kits for mothers overseas – a unique idea for a pro-life event, and very needed! With 50 members in attendance, these two groups assembled 200 birth kits for needy moms.

Volunteer Day at Local Pregnancy Help Organization
During their school’s EPOCH week, essentially a week of serving the community, they sent 20 members to volunteer at Mother and Unborn Baby Care – the same PHC they fundraised for. While volunteering, they cleaned the meeting rooms, organized baby clothes, and prayed over the space and clients they served. Through this project, this group brought awareness to PHCs and how they help women in need. This volunteer opportunity also inspired members to consider careers within that field, such as ultrasound technician, counselor, and PHC director.

COMING SOON IN 2025-2026…
St. Gianna Molla Society Pro-Life Club hopes to continue their leadership on campus by recruiting at least two underclassmen to shadow officer roles during the 2025-2026 academic year. This will prepare the students to take over when officers graduate, helping to continue the Pro-Life Generation’s efforts at St. Catherine of Siena Academy and in Michigan.
