My name is Kyra, and I’m a student at the University of Pittsburgh — a school that has an incredibly liberal student body and that ranks dangerously low on the free speech scale. This can sometimes cause conservatives to feel suffocated and discouraged, but that doesn’t stop Choose Life at Pitt, the pro-life student group on campus.
This year, we powered through adversity and unapologetically spread the pro-life message on campus. But our words weren’t always welcomed by pro-abortion activists — and, true to character, the reaction was nothing short of deranged. So here’s a list of the top five unhinged pro-abortion moments at Pitt in 2025.
5. Anonymous hate posts about our pro-life group on YikYak

All semester, our pro-life group received anonymous hate. Whether our group was having conversations about human rights or advocating for pregnant and parenting students rights, students did not want to hear the truth and advocated for our removal.
4. “Need to be Unpregnant?” stickers plastered around the university

When a student faces an unplanned pregnancy at Pitt, they’re not comforted, counseled, or offered information on available resources. Instead, they’re confronted by these QR codes with sick wording that link to an incredibly unsafe website to order chemical abortion pills.
3. Pro-abortion students and ANTIFA protesting our event
When Kristan Hawkins stopped at our campus in March, she wasn’t met with real dialogue from curious students — she was met with a group set on disrupting and shadowing her. The Pitt Planned Parenthood chapter handed out flyers about Kristan to the larger student body, attempting to cause issues rather than be civil.
Not only did students protest our event in person, but Pittsburgh ANTIFA posted on Instagram that they would “protect abortion access by all means necessary.” Their post — later deleted — included a picture of a gun and an “x” on the Students for Life of America logo.
2. Pitt’s Planned Parenthood student group stocking a campus locker with free Plan B
This is organized abortion access placed directly in the center of our campus for on-demand use.
1. Our peaceful pro-life chalking vandalized with ketchup to represent blood

After a pro-aborton student called the police on us for chalking on campus, our phrase reading “Every 7 seconds a preborn baby is killed by abortion” was erased and then vandalized with ketchup to silence our pro-life, pro-love message.
No matter the hate, Choose Life at Pitt will continue fighting our campus’s pro-abortion perspective. We are determined to change hearts and minds and build a culture of Life on our campus.
